Just thinking...

I was just sitting here this morning, going through some of my interests and reading lots of posts and it just really got me to thinking. There are SO many people that sign up here at Mylot and NEVER read the guidelines. Think about how many questions you see posted EVERY day asking the same questions over and over and had they just checked the rules and guidelines (as suggested when signing up) their questions would've been answered. I also get frustrated when I go into the making money sections of Mylot and see all of these referral links. Some people seriously only sign up on Mylot to get their referral links out there, even though it's against the rules. They would never know that though because they probably didn't read the guidelines. It's just really unfortunate how many people take advantage of this awesome site! I know myself I'd really miss it if anything ever happened to this place. What are your thoughts on our community we have here at Mylot?

Hi Jennlk, Since we have a members from all around the globe, this kind of situation is expected. We can't do anything when every member can post what ever they want. We only can hope that myLot admin will give a look at every discussion and take a good action. As a senior/old timer here, we should inform this people about the guidelines and if they still didn't take it, we can reported it to the admin. It is not good to report anyone but if they keep doing the same thing, we don't have any choice. Just told them to read the guidelines first. One thing we can do is by not responding to this kind of discussion. If we can do that I believe they will be gone in a near future. Responding to this discussion would not bring any good to us because it would be deleted. We even loss there since our earning would be deducted. Happy mylotting and have a nice day.

I agree with you. I often find myself rolling my eyes and just not responding after seeing the same question posted for the 5th time in a day. It just gets annoying and can be frustrating at times!

There will always be greedy people who only see this place as a money making exercise. I'd like to see the "4 paragraph" tasks come back as they were easy to do. I notice that the £4 tasks ask for "excellent writers" with 0 returns, which stops me - but only because I did have a few returns (not for english and grammar, mainly info correction) I may still do a few of those, but it's hard work - then again, the money was nice!

I agree with you on that alot of people just sign up and jump in without looking to see what is ok and what isnt!! I would be very sad with out mylot... I love it here, I check out mylot every day... and I have made some great friends here as well that I just love to talk too so it would be very depressing for me to lose mylot. I think the admin is on top of it though and they watch what is going on and take care of those that dont follow the rules so I am sure we are safe for now... but it would be great if people actually did read the guide lines before starting here. Happy mylotting.

Just thinking.......... Hello Jennlk84, thanks for posting this discussion. I agree with you that there are so many questions posted in the discussion section that has been posted over and over again. Perhaps there is a better way that mylot admin or staff could come up with in order to try to weed that out. Also you are right that that there are many people that come here to mylot, sign up without ever having read the rules or regulations. But then we have to remember that some people are just really busy and alot of them are simply looking for ways to make a quick buck. In closing I think that my lot is one of the best websites that's available and such a great community. I'm happy that we have people of all races and elasticities here with varying viewpoints. I'm happy to be a part of such a great organization and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I agree that most of those here have only one thing to consider; the best way to make money. I have been submitting discussions and responding to many others, but have never tried to make use of the system for inserting referral links. I would however like to make friends through whom something concrete could be worked out. Any harm in that?

Luckily I don't have any referral link's and I don't ask any strange question's that go against the guideline's. I think some people just don't read them. We agree when we signup that we have read them. I read mine before signing up. I believe that more people need to read them. I don't go into the make money section. So I don't know what is in there. But if I saw a referral link I think I would mention it to the person that they are not suppose to post it.

I find it frustrating too, that some people come to sign up here and the first thing they do is to post their referral link. There are a lot of rules beeing broked. For example there are some people that post the same discussion many times, or they post a discussion that had already been posted. And what about posting poll discussions like "how old are you?" and those creating a discussion celebrating a achivement, for example "i have just reached 500 comments", people thanking everyone for responces, people creating discussions critizising bad spelling from the others members, and many other rules! Maybe they just forgot, but there are other that really needs to read the guidelines AT LEAST ONCE...

My experience here has been really good and I would say that the majority of members here are generally well behaved and follow the rules most of the time but of course there the exceptions. When I was a newbie here I made the mistake of posting the link to my blog which wasn’t really a referral link because I was not making any money from the link but when my discussion was deleted I returned to the guidelines and made sure I would not repeat my error again. It happens even when you have the best of intentions. There is no excuse for the troll activity that can be rampant here at certain times. I have been lucky so far and not been harassed too much and the friendships I have made are well worth the time I spend here.

I agree with your thoughts. But I can not do anything, saw all this happen. Long run decline spirit, bored and lazy for the creative. I think mylot administrator must create systems to prevent this happening. Notification if there are symptoms found in violation. If notifications are ignored, then mylot immediate prosecution of all types of violations, with a warning first, second and third to give sanctions, starting from a reduction in points, a reduction in money to the account deletion. It is no use to make the rules, if there is no warning and / or sanctions.

I love Mylot so much it quite addictive. The other night I was having problems posting. I could post a thing and went to bed wondering if it was closing down or deleting me for some reason. So I know I would miss it so much. We learn things from this site and we can rant and share stories with each other that are human stories that we all at one time or another have faced or will face. Its my favorite site ever.

I do agree with you that there are lots that come in here, and start discussion just to get referrals, and others, asking how to make money here. The making money here, is easy, and if they would just read the guidelines they would understand. I have posted responses to some of those, as I wanted to point out to them to read the guidelines before they start posting. If everyone would read the guidelinse before they start posting, then we wouldn't get reptitive questions. It is boring to see the same questions over and over, and slso when I see referral links in the disucssion, I will tell them that they have violated the rules and the discussion will be deleted and they won't get paid, nor will the ones that respond. It is amazing how many of those I have seen lately, way to many. Maybe one of these days people will read the guidelines so this doesn't keep happening. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
