Let me ask a question... with the H1N1 looming around, is it rude for us to walk away from a friend/stranger when he/she coughs ? Well, today I was in hospital sitting down comfortably waiting for the doctor when one lady sat down beside me. Suddenly she coughed and coughed for a couple of seconds and took out her cough mixture... One man beside her stood up and walked away... I did the same after him... Is it very rude of us?

Personally I think it is more silly than rude. Germs are everywhere. That same lady touched the door knob and if she didnt cover her mouth those germs are now airborne. The H1N1 is not as bad as it seems. In fact, in the US the stats arent any worse than the normal flu. Trust me we have already dealt with it. Two people at my job have had it. The important thing is getting medical attention for it.

Yes, perhaps u r right, germs are indeed everywhere, but we don't see or hear, we don't remember that ... Over here in Malaysia, we have around 70 deaths already, some might not be reported at all, so we dont know the actual figure.. yes, personal hygiene and medical attention must be prompt and to be followed...

We don't take it seriously and we never talk about it anymore. H1N1 is not dangerous if you are healthy you can get rid off the virus and your recovery is very fast. Those high risk individuals that have underlying diseases should take precautionary measures and seek medical attention as soon as possible because it is deadly to them. H1N1 is self limiting illness you can get better even if you don't take any medicines if you are healthy. The vaccine is not yet availabe in the market and some people take advantage of it they selling the fake H1N1 vaccines and flu vaccines.

reanaclaire.. I think the deadly virus is getting into the nerve of everyone nowadays.. if we see someone coughing, sneezing, and with all, we will just run and not walk away..
You are just doing that to protect yourself being harm.. and this lady should be the one wearing mask.. and she is rude to cough in public at this kind of 'tension' time..

Big NO!! Better be safe than sorry. Very sorry to say this but the lady is rude to not put on a mask when she knows that she is coughing. With H1N1 spreading like nobody's business, who wouldn't walk away? I might look very rude at times because I look i.e stare at the person who sneeze or cough like nobody's around them. sigh... but I just want them to know that there is someone who is conscious of what they are doing. AND it's not OK!!!
