i did for ages on mylot because of being paranoid about a stalker. then i realised that he'd have worked out who i was anyway so it was pointless. my name btw is judith and any friends are welcome to have unflattering photos of me (i'd have a strong drink first though).

Pleased to meet you Judith ^_^
I don't exactly conceal my identity on here (or on other on-line places) but I never reveal where I live unless I know someone really well. They can get the country, but ask more than that and I get deliberately vague to stop people randomly turning up on my doorstep lol. Names, ages and birthdays I don't mind giving people, same as pictures since I do like having my picture taken and seeing pictures in return. I find t knowing who I am speaking with just makes the whole experience more real for me so I actively encourage it, but I also understand why other people don't like to do it and so never pressure anyone, or ask until we do know each other first well enough first :)
But yea, other than where I live I am pretty much an open book!

sorry, i want to do that all the time in the politics section but realise that they're not going to get it. anyway i'm not very photogenic so most of my life i avoid being in photos, the thing is when i forget about it or don't realise someone is taking a picture i look pretty.

Generally the only time I look good in pictures is when I take them myself because then I can capture the 'madness' without being embarrassed! It is usually the 'madness' that makes my pictures in any way enjoyable, and I normally conceal that around people.
Heck actually a secondary answer to your question could actually be yes, but in reality instead of on-line! When I am around people face-to-face I always hide who I really am because I am quite over the top and confusing. On-line though I can show all sides of me without fear, and so feel no need to conceal things :)

PS: I love the mention of the ninja rats. I have giant spiders instead, but they don't know kung fu so I don't know if they can count lol!

I'm so blonde...I used to think that I was being all anonymous. Anyone who knows me could figure it out so fast. I posted my website here and when I start a discussion , it is usually about something personal . It wouldn't take a genius to figure me out. I don't really care.

I guess if someone is really looking then it would not be too difficult to figure out on any of us. we all reveal some of our personal details, I think, on here. As for being blonde...I would love to be darker. gave up the trying as it only lasts a day or two before fading back. Some things are meant to be, I guess.

Nope, everything on my profile is just me. My name is Michelle, there isn't a place for that on the profile though. I'm always behind the camera so I don't have any of myself.

Maybe mylot thinks you need to be older for some reason I like Judith better than Lucy because my dog as a kid was Lucy and I wouldn't want to think of you as my old dog.

apart from the mylot team giving me a birthday about 3 weeks early my profile is fairly accurate. nice name you've got there, there might be a reason i hide judith. btw i was nearly called lucy, if i can figure out how to stick it in politics it's going.

Hello Judith. No, I've never bothered to conceal my identity online. Other personal information, of course, I do protect, such as my phone number!

I am sure that people can find our info any way they want to. The problem is that WE, as potential victim's need to watch what info that we put out there. The less info they have the better. My daughter inlaw was stalked online for 4 year's by a stalker then just recently it got physical. He actually found her address and took photo's of her kid's in the yard. So alway's watch everything you show to people online.

that's scary. i was being careful because i know of someone that would do that, but decided that making friends was worth the risk. my full name and my photo are never going online but i can't hide myself very well - if you've ever met me you'd pick me out here in about 3 seconds.

I know that R.D. intend's upon later on trying to get a discussion going about sort of this stuff, not really sure how he is going to do it, but he does want people to be aware of it. Being stalked is a bad thing.

Well Judith, it is scary when you think about it. But 3 of my son's luckily are police officer's, so I learn alot from them. I also have learned that I should never use the same name at any 2 forum's, or even communities. Because people will follow you from one to the other. Even if they did find my address, I wouldn't be to worried 50% of our community is police. They would be in for one heck of a welcoming party.

Hi jb,
my identity on mylot is corrected. But i did not add all my personal profile in mylot, as i am still paranoid to internet.
Additionally, i am not sure of the meaning of "any friends are welcome to have unflattering photos of me (I'd have a strong drink first though)". Per the response, it seems that you can give your friends the link to your personal profile including photos. Among those photos, it contains some drinked photos. I am not sure of if i understand your meanning correctedly. If no, i am sorry for that.
Happy mylotting!

Hi judith,
By the way, i found that some of your discussions are very difficult for me to understand due to my poor english. So some misunderstanding is unavoidable. If you find it, never mind to tell me. And if some misunderstanding offend you, i am sorry for that.
Happy mylotting!

Judith, I would say try to keep some thing's concealed. Don't even show photo's if you don't want too. I personally will be putting up a few photo's, but nothing that is really telling too much. I believe that my website has enough about me, so if people want to know more they can find out from there. But I also don't give that link out just to anybody. I have to know someone for some time before I give that out. I have many people that admire me for what I do, but there is alway's a freak out there. One never know's when a freak may show up. I won't make that mistake again. When they follow you from chat room to chat room, and from forum to forum it get's to be a bit much. But when they threaten to kill you and your family, they have gone to far.
There are also some community site's that will give out your full name on the profile page. Alway's use a different first name and change the spelling of your last name, if you happen on such a community. Gather is one of those communities.
