Have you ever found something you had lost after a really long time?

Today on MSN's homepage there was an article about a man that had lost his wedding band in a New Zeland harbor had found the band after 16 months. He was an ecologist and was studying underwater plant life when it disappeared. He searched and searched and finally, 16 months later, he found it. Something very similar happened to me back in 2001. I was living in Memphis working at a mall. I had an amber ring that I loved. I had always read that you can't really own jewelry, that it can get attached to it's owner and if you lose it it will come back to you. Well one day I was behind the mall smoking and dropped my ring down in the sewer grate. I was so upset. Every day when I went out I would look for the ring. After a few months, one day I looked and thought I saw something shiny. I looked harder and sure enough, it was my ring! I was thrilled to get it back! Plus, I thought it was odd that the ring just suddenly appeared. Has anything like this ever happened to you? A few years later, I was on vacation and was trying on rings in a jewelry store. I laid the ring down and never saw it again. I suppose it's attached itself to someone else by now. I wonder if it ever misses me?
