Do you think Plaxico Burress got a raw deal?

Plaxico Burress pleaded guilty today to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He will receive 2 years in prison. I think the penalty was too harsh. He only shot himself and he doesn't have a record of any previous crimes. I know that New York state laws have become more strict regarding possession of unregistered fire arm, but give me a break there are thugs out there that more than likely did the same thing and got a lesser charge. What do you think?
