Should my Daughter be when she gets her 1st puppy?
she'll be turning one in November.
I wanted to know if that is to young?
And if it is when is a GOOD age for a child to get a puppy?
And any suggestions on what type of puppy would be good?

I think before you bring your daughter the first dog, you should talk with your daughter and tell her how important or how meaningful for her to have her first dog. I am a children teacher, during my teaching life, most children don't know the dog has life and it has its own life. So usually the children think the dogs(or any pets)are just their toys, if they feel boring, they play or run with the dog. Some children even beat or shout to the dog.
So I think, the child should treat the dog as his/her sister/brother, they have to feed, take the bath, play, talk, walk with the dog, share everything to her/him, cause the dog is THE only buddy belong to her/him.
In addition, since your child ask for a dog, I guess she needs a friend to spend life together, is she lonely? And I am sure she becomes mature and understand everything in the real life, so, she can start to have her first dog.
My suggestion is to have a minitype dog. It is easy to handle or control. If your daughter is active and open-minded, I guess Boston Terrier,Cavalier King Charles Spaniel,Dachshund,Cockspaniel would be good choice. If not, Chihuahua, Bichon Frise,Papillon,Poodle, West Highland White Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier would be fine.
Hope these could help you.
