UN has already passed a non-binding resolution to outlaw any speech that is considered anti-religion (specifically anti-Islam). They are now trying to making this a binding resolution where all member states make it a illegal in their own countries to make any statements that is considered anti-religion.
Opinions?

well try to look at it at the different sides of the coin.
I'm a full-blooded christian i don't want anybody to talk against what i believe in.
There are ways to say things that will not be offensive.
Just my opinion

I agree there are ways to say things that will not be offensive, but I think anyone has the right to tell me that they don't believe in my God. I think anyone has the right to say that although Christian ideals are good, my concept of God is wrong. People should be able to say what they want, even if I disagree with it.
Should I be charged with a crime for saying something about your religion that "hurts your feelings"? An atheist can't disagree with you either because that would be illegal.

Why are they trying to make it so people have to walk on eggshells before saying a sentence. Also what I would consider not being offensive you may break down in tears over so where does one draw the line on who is right and who is wrong? Like the courts are not bogged down enough with real issues.

maybe because we just don't have the same culture.
We understand that americans is so liberal with their words.
But in my country if you say something hurting to somebody or a sect, it may cost you your life.
So we always are very discrete in our words. try to live here and you know what i mean.

It's typical UN crap. Besides EVERYTHING the UN does is "non-binding". They're a joke and they have no teeth.
In reality the only reason they are pushing this crap is because whenever someone insults or even makes jokes about Muslims people in Muslim countries like Sudan, Syria, etc., start rioting, attacking embassies, damaging private property, and killing people. I'm sure we all remember those Danish cartoons and the disgusting violent response from Muslims in the middle east.
I'm Catholic and I hear Catholics smeared and insulted constantly. You don't see the rioting happening when there's a political cartoon mocking Catholics. Most don't even bother to acknowledge it.
It's free speech and everyone here in the US has the right to mock and insult whomever and whatever they please. Not even the president is exempted from that as we know.
