Anti-virus software is a must program for your computers specially for heavy internet users that are vulnerable to get virus somewhere. Please share your experiences with your current anti-virus and other softwares that you used. I want to make a survey from the group what anti-virus is most effective as of now. I am currently using Avira Free Anti Virus, works fine but a lot of pop ups. I have tried AVG and Avast before.

Hey,
I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 on my computer. So far, computer hasn't had any problems for nearly 2 years, and I haven't had to re-format. So try Kaspersky 2009 Internet Security today. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I use avira and avast... both are free and works great. I used to have avg but it slows down my system and it can't get rid of some of the viruses that avira found.

Hi seekers
I am using avast professional now and i am pretty satisfied with the way it is working, i have to say i never required me to change my anti virus after 2 years, it catches virus peacefully and have never had virus issues... just try not to stray into websites that are not recommended.

I am having avast in one of my systems and Kasperskey,Norton in others.I feel avast and Kasperskey is better for the systems having less RAM .The other anti virus software are consuming more RAM while scanning and even when updating preventing us from doing our regular works in the systems.McAfee is the software which consumes more memory and almost it will block us from doing anything even if we have a RAM of 1GB.We should have at least 2GB RAM to use this software without any inconvenience.Even Avast will stop our browsers from working if the RAM is less than 1GB like 512Mb while updating. It seems the anti virus software needs more RAM for their proper functioning.
