I think its possible as she had an Abscessed Tooth. Some people are saying theres no way the husband could have not known but its possible he actually didn't know about her sudden alcohol and pot use. My mother had an Abscessed Tooth and said it was the worst pain she had ever been in. She quickly got a Root Canal. Maybe he isn't telling the truth but still the news of a husband losing hes wife and children is definitely hitting him hard as how could it not. I think the media should lay off and let him have his privacy as hes suffering too and not just the other victims from other families.

I think there some medical remedies available other than drinking because she has an abscessed tooth. I think the media sometime goes overboard and some people also have the right for privacy.

I don't know. I think it is just tragic. I agree the news people should give him space. I feel for the kids. It cannot be easy to have your moms name dragged through the mud so publicly.

I don't think we'll ever know just what that lady's story is. it could be that she was in much pain and trying to self-medicate. It is odd tho that someone who doesn't normally drink at all would turn to that method and to such an extreme but who really knows. I do think the media can and should let the story drop unless they have some new evidence to add to the story. At this point it is all speculation. It is sad and tragic and I'm sure the family does not need a daily reminder.

Of course this is a terrible thing for anyone to live with, you can't help but try to blame yourself for not being as alert to his wife as he thinks he should have been. The fact is that she caused the accident, for whatever reason this is what happened and now he has to pick up and go on with life, it's very difficult. My heart and prayers go out to him.

Well i did not read about this but yes it is very possible for a woman to be a closet drinker & a pot smoker.....There is a lot of men out there that has no idea what their women are doing...I am a woman & i know a lot of women that hide things from their husbands because they know he would not approve...and men do the same thing..

Last I heard there was evidence that she was drinking and smoking pot. I haven't heard anything about evidence of an abscessed tooth. But that would be interesting...

Hi elmiko~That horrific car crash happened not that far from
where I live! I just don't believe that this woman who was
responsible for speeding on the wrong side of the highway
killing as many people as she did by hitting them head on
was just merely a closet drinker and pot user! I also don't
believe that her husband had no idea that she ever drank!
I have had many abscessed teeth and I will agree that it is
an unbelieveable pain like you can't imagine! She had no
right to be driving anywhere if she indeed was in that much
pain! But, to drive under the influence with a car full of
children and then to lose control of her mind and to do
what she did! There is no way that she never drank before or
smoked pot and she had no right to be behind the wheel of
a car! I believe her husband is lying so he doesn't have
to face charges!
