Singers are making the difference? Why not the musicians who work for them?

Dear Music lovers,
Why singers are mostly well known and popular and why not the musicians who work for them?
The singers are hitting the celebrities list often and why not the musicians compete them. Don't you think the musicians make the song good and enrich it. Right?
MJ, C Dion, B adams, B S boys etc are popular but why not the musicians?
Only the musicians who composes music which has no voices (instrumental music) are becoming popular only if there is no voices.
For example Beethoven, Yanni and so on.... Nowadays Yanni also brought voices in his compostions....
What you feel? Singers or Musicians?
Share your thoughts.......
Cheers... Have a nice day...

i feel that musicians and singers are like soldiers and commanders. Though all together fight to bring the victory to the battle in the media world only the singers get the recognitions as commanders in the battle field. sweet Voice of singers is gift of god which beats the handwork of all the musicians.

hi Philip your correct its all made out of nature but i meant to say was the musicians hard work is overtaken by git of god. musicians learn to play nad come to high level so they have their own recognition but voice is gift of god which always overtakes them.

Thats true indeed. Even the sweet flute has to be made to produce wonderful music from a musician... Really I agree this and its with the singers too for their voice...
Talent is the gift of God... Well said...

I was a professional musician at the start of my working life and it was accepted as the norm that as a musician, I was there to provide good backing for a singer (I used to work mostly in cabaret shows). There is no doubt, and a lot of singers will agree with me here, that a good musician (or group of musicians) can really enhance a singer's performance. A bad musician can make them sound worse. Both singers and musicians have worked at their talent, and both are recognized for their talent. A singer is a front person, and if something goes wrong with a performance, it is always the singer who is remembered as being bad, so I would say that yes, they deserve the recognition, and those who are appreciate of musicians, will be able to admire the backing provided too.
I enjoy listening to instrumentals, and singers. I don't prefer either one alone. I enjoy all genres of music.. - Derek

I agree with you on this one. If the singer fouls up, everyone goes. But if a back-up member fouls up, it takes so much concentration for the singer to really cover up for the other's pitch and mistakes. hahaha. Just imagine, if one of the back-up made a sharp or flat key, the singer would have to battle her ears just to put the music back in place! And if in a band, if the drummer made an inaccurate count on the beat, i just couldnt imagine how the lead singer would be able to catch up! Just by thinking of it is making me laugh here!

some singers are good looking, either handsome or pretty and sexy, they are all good looking. They market themselves. They are selling their personality and talent as package. While some composers choose to be hidden on their talent, their priority or purpose is to create songs and find a perfect voice to bring to life their composition. Either they don't like to be the one to sing it, or they are not the right voice for it, they do not fit it. So what happens, they give their composition to other singers to be sold in the market. Some compositors are laid back, they are only for the music and not for the singing, that is why we singers.

Hi grecychunny,
Really well said. I agree with you. The singers when have both talent and personality they are attracted and take away the souls of the listeners. Anyway the musicians are far well behind these singers and enrich their songs and fame too.. Hope you agree this....

I t depends on the song. but am not talking about the oldie musicians am talking about our musicians here. some are ok. others have high tone but i hate most of them because they tend to change the tone on the way they sing the National Anthem..uhmmm...well, those who work for them might end up being spotted by paparazzi's...maybe some of them prefer not to be popular

Ok..Let me put in this way. A song with all the spices with music, with dance and singers and every one without music will hit the road?
I don't think so.... Cheers

ah, i see. i get it. you're right, it's a loose end situation if it wasn't for those who help and made them famous, they'd be hitting the road too, singing in the streets.

singers sell ability sing and musicians sell ability to play musical instrument. So, both are can't be separated. This if talk about harmonization of music. But if say about industry of music, course singer more have value compared the musicians

i think it depends on the music genre. If we are talking about pop music, singers always get the credit. If we are talking about classical music, the composer gets the credit. If we are talking about choral music, both singers and the choral arranger gets credit. Going back to pop music, in actuality, i also realized that you do made a good point here. The musicians assumes 50% accompaniment in justifying a song. How come it is the singer only who gets recognized?
Good thing i am in a choir. No matter how good the arrangement is, if the singers could not justify the writer's music thru soul and dynamics, it would still be a waste.

Hi Grace,
I too agree it somewhat depends on the music. But who attracts the people and who stays in the heart of people for a long time. I think it is singers. They take the music along with them and make them fame. But when it comes to instrumental it totally depends on the musician... Both way it is a team work...
Cheers... Have a nice day...

Judging the singers by the public is an easier job for them but judging the music is a tough one as people are not aware of the notes and kinds of music. Very less varieties , we can see in music.
singers are famous becoz we , the common people can easily judge them for their singing...indirectly ..common people who make other people famous, have less sence of music as compared to singing. like we can say that yes he is a bad singer or she is a good singer but we cannot say that this is a bad music and thats a good one.

I agree with you. I also thought about this. I also think it is not fair that only the singer becomes popular because of a song. A song which is loved by people is not only because of the singing skills of a singer but also because of the tune and lyrics of this song. The kind of singers that i respect best is who can compose the tune, write the lyrics and sing at the same time.

different peopele have different taste..
singers and musicians have different aims and goals.
singers focus more on the profit side, while the musicians emphasize the pursut of music spirit~
singers laugh the musician so fake, the musicians laugh the singers so superficial~
so it is really hard for them to co-operate ~

May be musicians go for spirit but they too need fame and money to survive right? Also it is not totally depends on the taste of music. Everyone likes music with song and song with music.....
