Are you Impulsive

Are you the type of person who takes decisions on the spur of the moment or do you think well, rationalize, weigh the pros and the cons before taking a decision?
I'm terrible that way. When something comes to my mind, I have to do it immediately. I'm so bad that just a week ago I told my boss I wanted to stop work because I felt so tired commuting back and forth and even offered to help him find a replacement. He wanted me to think over it. But I said my mind was already made up. He wanted me to work at least for the rest of the month and I agreed.
I went home happily. But the very next day I got up wondering what I had done and feeling dreadful about my stupid decision. On reaching office I asked the boss again whether I was allowed to change my mind and he happily agreed. I was lucky. He even made things easier for me regarding the times of work and it turned out well.
However, I tend to jump the gun all too often and I wonder whether there are others out there who do impulsive things like that and regret it the next moment.

I always think twice before I jump. According to me once you jump with anger, you can't jump back with the same anger. So think twice before you jump.

Well, with something like a job, I take my time and evaluate it carefully. Maybe when the decisions to be made are life altering, I tend to be more cautious and think it through - usually. But that doesn't mean I don't get myself into trouble when I make decisions on seemingly less important things. I find myself getting into a mess of trouble sometimes because I don't think before I act. Or more accurately, think before I speak my mind.

Hi AmbiePam: Nice to hear from you. I know what you mean. That might have been the stupidest decision I ever made. But the thing is, although the quitting itself was impulsive, I've wanted to do it many times before, but somehow let my head rule my heart. That day however, something snapped inside me. I now feel that things will be much better in future.

I make impulsive decisions so I'm glad I don't have to make any important decisions right now. I've bought a lot of expensive clothing that I thought was right for me when I was at the store but now I regret getting it. _

Getting my job back was a blessing. I guess I was more needed than I thought. By the way, is it not possible for you to take your clothing back to the store and exchange them. But I do understand your position. I too have done it many times, but since I regret it the moment I go home, I go back the next day itself and get an exchange for what I don't like. Is it something to do with the mirrors in the stores. Although it made you look good in the store it did not look as good at home. Wonder why that is?
