Food review programs are programs that feature eating places outside your home, with the varieties, specialities and Price. These shootings of the way the food being prepare, sometimes send us drooling even while watching.. In the country that I am living, we have all sorts of food review programs in all kind of languages.. and there are featuring not just those in my country but all over the world too... However, sometimes we know that these programs are sponsored, therefore the host may have some favouritism (as you can see, they will all say it's yummy and nice) Let's share with me here... 1) Will you / Have you been to these featured eating place? 2) What is your experience after visiting.. do you think that what the programs say is true? I will share my experiences in different comments as I am someone that will go to those featured eating place and have lots of different experiences.. Happy MyLotting

I don't go to any place just because it has been recommended somewhere. If it sounds good, I may try it. There are a couple of places here, where I live that I had heard a lot about. One of those places, my husband said he just loved to eat at. I decided one evening, to go there to get our dinner. Never again will I return. I was totally unimpressed with the food there, and my husband had second thoughts as well. Just because a place is liked by seemimngly many, doesn't mean it is really worth it for all.

lynnemg, I agree with you.. sometimes, when we are looking forward very much to a specific restaurant, and the food is just not up the the expectation, we get very disappointed ya.. when we watch those food review, we tend to set a standard to it, and therefore when it turn out not the way we expected, we just don't feel happy about it..

TulinKei... is must be very disappointing ya.. I have ever left a restaurant too, due to the bad service standard, and just walk a door down the road, we enjoy the very best of everything.. Sometimes, we even do not mind the price, but the service has to be up to standard too.. and obviously, when there is a food review, they will also mention the best of the service standard..

Good point. Once went to eat at a fancy restaurant, which was credited by many. The food was absoloutely appalling, and rather tastless. (Credit crunch maybe?) We then left the table, and went to another restaurant - nearly empty, not near as much of a 'designer luxuary' design - but the food there was amazing. So as lynnemg says - don't judge a restaurant by what everyone else says. But also don't judge a restaurant by it's look either. :)

i probably would for they make the job of looking for nice places to eat a lot easier. that would entail less disappointments with the food itself and being sure in having your money's worth .

Ritchelle.. thanks for responding.. I have some good experiences too with these reviews... I was living in a neighbouring country for quite some time.. however, when I was new there, I did not have many friends, and of course never know where to eat which will give me worth of the value of the money.. One day I followed one of the shows, and got to this little stall in the central of the country, and enjoyed a sumptuous meal with the best ever price I ever paid.. I was just so happy after eating those food, and walk out from the stall with a ear to ear smile..

cwong77, When it comes to food, I am not very adventurous. I dont go around sampling food. I dont even watch those food review programmes as I know they are made up to look better. I do sometimes accidentally dine in places that has been reviewed and sometimes, they dont turn out like what they are said to be.. So I leave it to my discreetion to go dine or not.. most of the time, I do not..

submerryn.. thanks for responding... and indeed, home cook food is still the best ya.. but once a while a treat for yourself will be good too.. For me, I will go around for food, but also depends on the mood of myself too.. My family has a very 'sharp' tougue, therefore not easy for us to say it's nice.. even most of my friends will say so..

Just this evening before i went out with my kids, i surfed one blog which features ipoh food mainly. At least can get some suggestions and ideas to what and where to eat..I want to know what dishes to order and how it taste so it is a good move to see reviews from bloggers. But the taste depends on individual, each have their own different views on that. I love viewing food blogs, especially those around my area..lol..
