Have you ever been on shopping expeditions and bought clothes that looked terrific on you when you looked in the store mirror but looked a disaster on you when you tried it at home. It has happened to me many times. I have to take them back and exchange them unfortunately for something I really did not want or in the process spending more for unwanted things. I would love to hear from you about your shopping adventures.

See, I have the opposite problem. Everything looks horrid on me in the store, but when I take them home, they look fine. So if I try something on, and I really like it although it doesn't look too great in my own opinion, I'll buy it knowing I can return it. Usually when I wear it when I arrive home, I like it. I think it is because all of those fitting rooms are so small. So when I look at myself in the mirror, I'm like three inches away from the stupid thing!

Lucky You AmbiePam. It happened again yesterday for me. I bought this blouse I thought looked good on me, but when I tried it at home I wished I hadn't bought it. Why do you think it happens? Is it psycological, or is there some trick in the store mirror or could it be that my home mirror is distorted and that I look absolutely gorgeous but don't know it! (sigh)

I think it's pyschological. But then there's always that buyer's remorse claim, so maybe it's just that. You know, after one makes a purchase the regret hits once one arrives home, and because one regrets spending the money, the item is then looked to as not as good as it was pre-purchase, before you spent your money. Well, I guess that theory is psychological too...
I bet you look a lot better in it that you think.

lucky for me,I haven't experienced any fashion disasters.I tend to spend a lot of time in the fitting room, looking at how clothes fit me.sometimes,I stumble at an item that I really, really love.I buy it nonetheless, even if it doesn't look good in the mirror.lucky for me,when i wear it to the office or out it will look good.i guess with the right shoes,it will look nice.

Thanks coco. you are correct. if you really love something, then you just got to buy it or you'll go home and dream of that particular item of clothing and regret not having bought it. Maybe you are one of theose girls who look good no matter what they wear. Thanks for responding.

Recently I saw a blouse really gorgeous in a mall and I even bought it, it was looking terrific and it was the latest fashion however when I got home and tried it it was bad and I did not like it at all, I could not even change it back so I gave it to my sister who love it a lot. Good to have sisters in this case.

that has happened to me too. i thought, at first, a blouse was the best i chose from a store and when i arrived home, i felt bad in it. one blouse, in fact, was too loose for me when i arrived home and it was okay when i was in the store's fitting room. i was lazy to return/exchange the item and i ended up giving the blouse to my younger sister. that is why now, when i shop for clothes, i want to do it alone and make sure i have more time for shopping. if pressed for time, i usually end up with the wrong choice.
