I was walking around the different booths at the investment fair that is held over the weekend. One of the booths I came across was related to investments in land. Just a general outline for better understanding, investing in land is very much similar to investing in shares in principle. The difference being, instead of getting a share in a company, you actually own a parcel of land. Overtime, the price of land will appreciate, and you can sell it for a profit.
The agent said something that caught my attention. There is only so much land on earth. But the demands for these lands are always increasing due to a growing population.
Investments is all about supply and demand. And if demand for land out stripping the supply, it is almost a sure bet that investing in land will not lose money! It is more of a question of how much profit you can get for that particular investment of land that you make.
Interesting. And very logical too.
Question: Will you invest in land to grow your money?
What are the factors that will help you to decide whether to invest or not?

Hey was that land investment thing under Walton International? If I have enough money I'll definitely invest in it.

Yeah, Walton was one of those who approached me during the fair.
There were a few others too. Offers where for land in many different countries. From Australia to Canada to Germany, lots of choices.
The question is, being new to this arena of investing in land, how does one do his/her homework to know that the land one is thinking of investing in is worth it?
We are talking about a few thousand dollars here.
Any advise?

Not too sure about it. The lady who did the presentation gave simple analogy. A barren land is like plain water. When you develop the land, its like you're making a chocolate drink, thus the value will definitely be higher then what it originally was.
I will need to check reviews on Walton International to see how its performing. Also might wanna consider if areas that are being developed are prone to natural disasters or not.

Investing in landed property is always a smart move by those far sighted investors. Land will never depreciate in value and will always be good to have lands in case you wish to get overdraft from the bank for business purposes as it can be used as collateral. I always wish to add more land to add to some of my inherited landed property for my kids. I have few pieces of land that is good for buildings and the locality is in prime area. Now I wish to buy farmland that is in remote area so I can build a simple house while I grow fruit trees and rear animals. I wish to withdraw from the busy city life and spend some quiet life close to nature in remote places.

Your definition of investing in land is to buy the land physically and then stay on it.
I was at a recent investment fair, and they have companies that will take your money, pool them together with their own or other people's money, then buy land and develop.
Then when that developed land is sold, you will get a said amount on top of the initial cash you put in.
But I do like your definition of investing in land. If only it could be easily done where I am. Here where I live, land is so darn expensive. Even at the cost of an arm and a leg, it is still difficult to buy land for the average wage man like me.

I guess i will invest in land, more than anything else.. haha =D Because once u own a land, u can practically do anything u want with it, and there are not much restrictions.. haha =D U can even build a shopping mall, and be renting out shops from there.. PLus, u need not pay rent to anybody as the land is already yours.. haha =D
IT's quite worth it, if one decides to develop it for their own use, and look further into the future, rather than selling for a profit.. hehe ^_^

land is always a good investment .how cheap is cheap?there island in south texas that sells for 500 busks an acres.but there is nothing around at all therefore that is all the land worth.i believe cheap land is cheap land no matter where you find it but you might not expect double your money at any time soon.goodluck on your ventures!!!
