Personally, I think Microsoft Office versions earlier than 2007 is pretty rubbish. They're inefficient horrid little bratbags who love fiddling with my image positions or formatting.
However, I've fallen in love with the 2007 suite. Not only has the MS people finally revamped its appearance, but it's also pretty much faster, and way more useful (:
What's your favorite wordprocessor, and why? (: I'd be interested to know.

I like MS Office a lot, but,it does use up a lot of RAM as compared to the previous versions. I agree that MS Office 2007 is cool, and has a better look and feel than Open Office. As someone mentioned, there are no licensing issues for Open software and that is one advantage of Open Office. Another one is the free and easily available fonts of many Indian language scripts for Open Office, and I am sure for other languages too.
My 14 year old computer geek son has started using MS Office 2010 recently on his laptop, he wants to test it before he allows me to install it onto my laptop.

I used to use both Microsoft Office and OpenOffice. Last time i personally prefer OpenOffice as it is open source and you don't have to bother with the license things. But somehow, Microsoft office is widely use here, I'd trouble to view my stuff in my friends PC. Now i'm stick to Microsoft Office, i like Microsoft Office 2007 new interface.

it all depends on the nature of your work. openoffice is a better choice for regular work specially when it is free. i would change only if i need a feature and know where (which office package) it is available. i wonder if anyone uses 100% features available in any software ?
