Do you know how this works. I am not able to understand clearly from them. They just asked my e-mail id and thats it.

Just read the FAQ of the site. One gets referrals continuously according to the members choice of programs. Anyone who joins after you will be your referral. Not to just one program but to multiple programs.
If you join now it is free and after a week, one starts getting referrals. Though there is no fixed number of referrals mentioned, one gets continuously, so after sometime one can have a very good number of referrals.
