You all must be enjoying your amount of bounty you earn online. But do you know that your PC gets exposed to hundereds of virus threats everyday? Do you know that while you are browsing through thousands of unsecure web pages, you antivirus is working hard to keep your PC safe from such viruses.
The Antivirus installed in your PC is however, not able to prevent all the viruses that the web pages deliver to your PC. These Viruses are Dangerous as they are able to pass through the Scan of your antivirus.
Is your PC also affected by such virus? How does it effect you?

well I scan my pc regularly using zone alarm antivirus....it does detect viruses and helps keep my computer clean. Inspite of having zone alarm firewall most few viruses seem to bypass the security but of course get deleted when scanned.. So I do make it a point to scan my pc often

Better switch over to another antivirus. Its very risky to use antivirus which allows Viruses to enter your PC. It may happen so that the virus will delete your files befor you can run a scan.
Stay safe!

Hai,
I am using AVAST antivirus and I trust the same. Usually some pages will link to some viruses or the page may contain some infected files. So the avast antivirus scanner will automatically pick up those links or files and blocks for me. I wont be scanning my PC regularly because I trust my antivirus as it is doing the job very well.
Regards,
Reyas

Yes, Avast is what I trust too.
It doesnot let virus affected Pages to openup. Avast does all the securty work for my PC and I dont scan MY pc for months as I am sure that Avast will keep my PC clean and clear.
When I was using AVG I had to scan every month and I used to get loads of Viruses in my PC.
The Boot time Scan Of Avast is just awesome and it removes almost every possible virus in my PC.

I use AVG Antivirus which consistently comes out in the top three of any AV programs. No AV, as you point out, is 100% secure because new viruses are coming out every day but AVG claims to protect against more than 98% of them.
Other protections I use are Zonealarm Firewall, Adaware, Spybot, Firefox browser and FreeDNS, all of which offer some protection and warning against dangerous websites and email attachments. In the past five years, I have never had a significant virus or trojan attack because I keep all of the above updated regularly and am well aware of the current threats and (usually) how to deal with them.

Well, Its good that AVG protects your PC.
For me AVG is just a junk software.
I used to use AVG a year back. I scanned my PC once a month and the ABG showed that my PC was clear of viruses.
After some months I removed AVG and installed Avast Antivirus. And I was shocked to see that my PC had about 130 trojan viruses installed.
AVG doesnot detedt Trojan viruses.
Maybe they have improved their database of viruses in new updates. But a year back it was nothing but a Junk.

Because I work online, I set my anti virus to scan daily automatically. I also scan for malware and spyware a couple times a week. I also have a good firewall. It has just gotten to be a habit for me over the years. I did have a trojan slip by once, but it didn't do much damage thank goodness, so I became very diligent in updating and keeping things scanned on my computer! I think it is something that HAS to be done for all of us on line these days.

i remember last time many virus and trojans, spyware and adware and malware pass through the scan of my antivirus, so no matter how many times i scan, the problems still there. so in the end i had to install anti-spyware and anti-malware softwares and eventually everything is cleared
currently i scan once per week, but so far my computer is 99% clean of virus, trojans, spywares, adwares, malwares

You are very right we affected by thousand of viruses came while we are browsing and if your scanner is not that good to get rid of them then your pc must go in some trouble.
I had experiences many time the trouble of viruses from the web. Recently i downloaded i song from a site and when open it , it goes disappear and it did wat my chrome browser start not to respond any and since then it neither uninstalling nor it opening.
I that time had use the free edition of Avg anti-virus. By that i mean that free edition are not that affective. THe are not so good and many time didn't rcognises the viruses andy many time had the wrong prdiction.
Why we need to have a file in trusted state why? They always get wrong prediction .one of my .exe file it treat as malware.
Why didn;t we have abetter antivirus

I used to use Norton Anti-virus software and it let viruses on 2 occasions into my machine, so as you can imagine, that after paying for Norton, I wasn't too impressed. I then switched to Mcafee (about 5 years ago) and since then (touch wood) I have not had any virus problems. It is updating regularly every day, and automatically scans my machine completely once a week. It was worth paying the extra for. - Derek

My antivirus will auto to scan my system every week. And I will update antivirus everyday to keep my computer safe. Antivirus can kill most of the virus. I seldom go to the websites I don't know, that can let virus far from my computer. Now I have these habbits because I lost some very important documents before.
Happy mylot!
