If a friend asked me to do this I would feel very proud in that they could trust me with such a precious job, it shows trust and it shows they value your friendship and your honesty. So I would certainly do this for them and prove that they have every faith in me. I wouldn't spend a penny of it, and besides it makes me feel good knowing that someone has the trust and confidence in me. Of course I would respect their wishes, I would encourage them to put it in a bank or a high yield investment bond to earn them some capital on top that would be more sensible, as that kind of money is risky to have sitting around without putting it away safely.

I wouldn't place it at home, because the insurance wouldn't cover it and I would be frigthened of it getting stolen and I wouldn't feel safe with it, so I would put it in the bank, I could always say it was a lottery win or I inherited it! I think in a bad economy banks would only be too willing to take the money with few questions asked!

I'm not in need of money. but i have lost a huge bet in the futures market sometime back. but today I am not tempted to use it, if someone gives it to me for safe keeping as I never did it in the past. Most probably I will refuse to take the money and keep it in my safe custody. One never knows when the thieves will hit my place and take away that money. So I will say politely refuse to keep it with me.

i'm careful with what is not mine. money can be arranged and paid out, but not the trust someone had in me.

of course not. see, if the money is clean one, how come the other party dont want to put the money inside the bank but instead give me the money for me to keep for him or her ? definately the money is dirty money and so if police want to catch the suspect, they will 100$ catch me because the money is with me

What happened to the bank? that's not good enough for you? seems to me, you best put your money in the bank than in someone's hands. That is your best out to me. If you ask my opinion.

hi savvy .. you are so cautious, yes people will normally do not put the money in the bank if only it will cause them problem .. the same thing they will not want it in the house either ..

If someone would ask me to hold his money, I will ask him/her first some questions like, his reasons why he want me to hold or keep it for a while, where did the money come from and for how long will I keep it. If I am satisfied with his answer to my questions, then I would gladly accept his money for safekeeping. I would probably deposit it in a bank so it could earn a little interest and so I can withdraw and return the money to him when he already needs it.

Maybe, if I am a BANK , but if I am just to hold your money? what for? do I get an interest somehow, since I don't even entertain the idea of using that big amount of money or be tempted.

For me it would all depend on the person who was doing the asking. If it were someone I knew for many years and knew very well then yes I could do it for them but if it were someone not very close to me then I couldn't as I wouldn't know that I could trust this individual. Thank you for your post and have a great evening.
