Hi there :)
As you can see by the number next to my name I am new at this...
There are a few questions that I would love answered if possible?
1 - How do I add a picture to my profile? I don't want to be a little anonomous green box :(
2 - What are tasks??? Why do some people say these earn more money?
3 - I understand that you only get $ from the first comment under a discussion you have started, and then additional $$ if you comment on the responses?
4 - Any advice for a newbie???
Thanks
Misty x

Hi there, I also a newbie on myLot, I just try to help as I can. I hope we can be a friend here on myLot. for your answer I this my answre:
1. For the profile picture, I think it just to help us to be socialized easily. But some of myLot master said if we can earn money by upload a picture, but not for the profile picture.
2. task is a task that created by a myLot user, they pay us every time we finish their task and they accept that. We can earn more money by complete a task, because some task has big reward, the biggest reward for task that I know is $4 per task. The reward is depend to the creator.
3. Hm, I don't know about the first comment that will be paid, I'm sorry for that.
4. Some of my advice for you is if you want to earn more on myLot, just be active here and try to post a long response, because myLot will pay more for that. Try to post for about min 3 lines. To can earn faster you must make referral as much as you can, because it is the best way to earn on myLot. Just imagine like this, if we have 100 referrals and our referral earn 20 cents per refferal per day, so we will get 25 % from the earnig, that is 5 cents per referral. So we will get 500 cents or $ 5 every day. If in a month so we will get $5 x 30 = $ 150. Just imagine if we have more than 100 referrals. Wow we will be rich man.

So far I have 0 referrals... seems like no-one I know wants to write... or they are already on here! What I wouldn't give to be a rich lady!!!
Thanks for the advice I appreciate you taking the time to post on my discussion - it is really nice to see that the newer users can offer advice as well and feel that the older users aren't going to shoot them down in flames for doing so!
Thanks again

Hi MistyWood, all your points have been covered but as I'm already here I'll add another tip which is check your friend requests and avoid the friend collectors, those with 100's of friends but with little postings, they are probably spammers. Once you press delete next to their names the suspicious ones will immediately come back so just leave them pending. Check profiles to see if you share interests and if they respond on their own discussions if you want interaction. I regularly cull the list if I'm hit with too many alerts from people whose discussions don't interest me.

Theank you Thea,
That is a really good piece of advice, I don't want to just collect random friends with whom I have little in common and just want to "collect" me...
I want friends that I can converse with and whom I have things to talk about....
Thanks again

To add your pic it's under preferences. I don't do tasks so I can;t help you there! But my best advice is to do responses at first until you understand how we work here at nylot, doing posts for a newbie just gets them, usually in trouble, it's more than posting a bunch of questions and making lots of money! It's best to try and get friends here first and prove yourself with good solid thoughtful responses, if the poster comments on your response, which should be done to all responses, then feel free to comment on his or her comments, it can go on for awhile! You make money doing it this way plus build a good reputation, follow your friends and they will follow you! Then and only then start posting and you will be rewarded! If your new and start posting a lot and get overwhelmed with responses, you'll get behind and star taking short cuts, this will cost you money and reputation, and this is important! tdemex

Thank you for the advice it is much appreciated :)
This is my first post asking for advice, other than that I have been responding to ones that I feel I know something about - I guess you would say that I am sticking in my comfort zone for the moment...
I totally understand the comment about reputation - after all no-one on here knows me from Adam, or in my case Eve... so Yes I see reputation is evertyhing.

1- top left menu choose "preferences". On taht page first thing you can do (scrol down a bit) is to upload an avatar.
2- tasks are things you may choose to do and earn some money apart of what you can get from posting comments and open discussions. Some require to register on certain site, some require to write an article .. Keep in mind those are not mylot property, mylot only handle the eventual payment AFTER the user created the task will confirm you done it. Some may take loooong time to be aproved, some not to loong, some very fast. there is no rule to say which is fast and which not.
3- As far as I know, there are some earning from any post you made, if does not end deleted. Yet some produce very low amount or maybe none (ex. I think discussion started and nobody comment = 0 cash. Is what I think is happen, I don't know exactly)
4- Enjoy the conversations. Post as descriptive and as long as possible but stay ontopic. Reply to answers in discussion you start. Re-comment on others answers and on others comments (be ontopic and do not be short). Upload pictures (pay attention, you must not break copyrights ..). I don't know yet sure about but maybe also quizzes make some money .. this is very new thing here, quizzes.
Do not take your presence here as "I'm here only to make money". Participate, Involve. Be creative, be social ..
Happy myloting ! :-)

Thank you - I appreciate all the advice... :)
I am not here to make money - it is a nice advantage of being able to have conversations with people that I wouldn't otherwise be able to do.
Creative, social - that I can do.... Teacher! Scientist.... Tarot reader.... Social club members secretary... ;o)
