When I was a kid I often eat with my whole family every weekends. My parents would not start eating with someone that's missing. That's the only time that we all talked and shared the happenings of our days. It was fun every time I tried to recall, though there were times that it ended up with arguments.
But now that I've grown up, and most my siblings have their own family, we only able to eat together during especial occasions. And I've often eat alone, or sometimes with someone. Sometimes I like to eat alone because when I have company I'd often ate a lot. I tend to forgot the amount of food that I eat over discussions and sharing. I'm one of women who are quite conscious of their weight.
How about you, do you prefer eating alone or with company?
Thanks a lot!
Have a great weekend everyone!

I enjoy eating alone so I can eat like a hog and smack my food. With company you have to eat more politely. Eating with company probably makes me eat more healthy. I do have a tendency to overeat when I dine alone. I think we are the exact opposite. I eat less with people because I don't want to look like a hog. Whereas you eat less when you dine alone because you prepare smaller and healthier meals for yourself. I don't usually talk when I'm eating. I'm too busy shoving my face full of food. I just listen most of the time. lol

Hey!
That is true with being alone you get to take your time and be a little more messy , and kinda savor the taste. I used to worry what I looked like when eating when in High school that I would spill things LOL.

I prefer both. I think it is great to have a family dinner and let everyone talk about what happened that day. But at the same time every once in a while it is nice to have a nice quite dinner alone. I guess I really prefer company though.

I enjoy both eating alone and with company. When I'm eating alone it allows me to think and reflect on my day or on my life with regard to how I'm progressing with my goals. I like eating with company, in that I like engaging in stimulating conversation with my friend and family when I'm eating. Plus I enjoy their company and spending some quality time with them.

I prefer to eat with small company. I don't like eating with a big crowd of people. I know it's silly but I'm always afraid someone is looking at me while I'm eating and I don't like that. If I eat alone I put music or the television on to create some noise.

Well it actually really depends on the situation and place.
In public restaurants everyone likes to eat in a group...in fast food joints it doesn't matter...and when you are at a family reunion well you can probably guess.
I enjoy eating at home alone and out with my friends. When i was a kid i didn't like to eat with my closest family members actually felt kinda awkward because it were rare occasions due to timeline differences and i enjoyed eating at HUGE gatherings it always felt like something special.

Well I'd definitely prefer eating with someone else most of the time especially if we can engage each other in conversation. It's nice being able to eat and talk to someone. I hate eating alone in restaurants so I avoid that if I can. I don't mind eating alone at home or during work breaks, as that is not much of an issue since I only have a set amount of time anyway.

I also don't like eating alone in a restaurant, or especially in a place where most of the people I've known ate on that particular diner. I would felt so strange and lonely. But yeah, at home I enjoy eating alone. Anyway, I don't have a normal eating schedule. And I don't have much time on eating, even on weekends.
Anyways, thanks for sharing with us.
Have a great weekends!

I don't get full eating alone. I mean when I'm in the midst of pals, i tend to share whatever I'm eating with them. It makes my food go down well and also makes me happy seeing them around me eating. There's no bond in friendship than eating together. The only time I eat alone is when I'm at home, even at work breaks, we share common table and probably eat our beefs from thesame plate.

My family rarely eat as a family, we get our meals at about the same time, but we sit in different rooms to eat them. We eat together at Christmas and Easter or if it is the type of food where it is on one plate and you pick at it eg pizza etc.
I think that I prefer eating alone. I am one of those people that eat because it is meal time or because I am bored, not for pleasure purposes. So if I am alone, I can eat it quicker and not have to worry about making pleasant conversation over the meal.

Yeah, one of the advantages of eating alone is you don't have to worry in making a pleasant conversation with your company. I guess eating either with company or being alone is more like a preferences. Some people get used to eat with their family or someone. They felt being lonely or losing taste with the food. While other people like you was used or comfortable on eating all by yourself.
Anyways thanks for sharing with us and enjoy the rest of the weekends!

Hey!
Growing up we always had big family dinners and when my bro and me were older that became less and less . I do miss that and now we just usually have a famliy dinner once in awhile and usually on Sundays . We both are grown and on our own now so that has a lot to do with it. During the week I am so used to eating alone , but it is nice to cook for my fiance. Also, I enjot cookouts with some people .

Yeah metschica25, we always missed those days. It seems like it was yesterday, and it often brought us smile every time we look back. Good that still you manage to get together with your family once in awhile. Nowadays, It's only on Christmas and New Year that we'd able to bring back the old days. I really look forward on it, every year. Though sometimes I invite some of friends to dine in with me. And it was always fun. Anyways thanks for sharing with us. Have a great day!

I am a kind of a person who needs some company in having some food or a drink.Believe it or not..Till now I never had food alone(I mean out side food, like in restaurants etc.,)I always prefer going out with friends and family. There is nothing like,I am feared out in eating alone...Its feels good when some one is there for us, to share our views or to talk for some time. These days, people are meeting their friends by just calling on phone.
When I am home,I will eat alone,at times I prepare food on my own and eat.Though its not gonna come as tasty as my mother prepares,I will manage to satisfy my friends.

It's always been good having a company especially while eating. When you have a company even though the food isn't so tasty but the conversation makes the food great. And you even forgot to notice the time, for 2-3 hrs seems quickly passed. That's what I've often experienced when I have a great company while eating.
Anyways thanks for sharing with us
Have a great day!

I enjoy eating with company, the more the merrier ! In our family, we tend to eat as a whole and talk about certain things and future plans. But now sometimes we ate not complete because of the working schedule especially me!.. Anyway, at work, we ate together and had fun chatting about the cases we had and funny stuff our co-worker did or the doctor said. We enjoy eating and sometimes we ate a lot than expected to eat especially when someone treated that feast. Well, its fun eating with company but there are times that I eat alone especially at the mall and I'm the only one roaming around. It's sad but I need to especially when I'm really hungry.

Yeah, absolutely the more the merrier. Especially when you're with a bunch real funny people. Eating with them would be such a great time. But when I would be eating with people whom I don't really like. I rather be eating alone.LOL. I just like to eat with a company whom I'm comfortable with.
Ah, ha! It's a must to eat when you're hungry wherever you maybe, even when you're alone. Or else you'll be in big trouble... Anyways, thanks for sharing with us.
Enjoy the rest of the weekends!

You're right! Eating with people I'm comfortable with is really fun and cool that we can share anything. I remembered one time, I'm with my high school friends and we had a get together at the mall, we ate at the fast food and we stayed there for two and more hours just chatting, laughing and reminisce the old high school days. It was really fun!

At home or at work, I am fine eating by myself. Sometimes the peace and quiet of eating alone is just the break i need during a day. I've noticed, especially when I am eating a guilty treat, say an ice cream sundae, I enjoy it more when I am by myself.
But, on the other hand, I remember those family meals, sitting around the kitchen table talking with my family. I think as our busy schedules and rush to get more and more done during a day take more hold, these are going to be a lost treasure in our lives.

Yeah, I agree with you. When you're get being around with so many people most of the time. Having a time of being alone was such a relief. And break time was such an opportunity. That's what I also felt and experienced from my previous job.
It's really sad to say, that those simple real good times that we shared and spent with our family over food. Would be lost practice and be forgotten over the years, because of too much cares of our own business.
Anyways thanks for sharing with us, and enjoy the rest of weekends!

Oh, I think that must be a real self issues that you should take an action. Well you're not alone. I've known some of people who just can't do things all by themselves. You should learned to be independent, because there would come a point in your lives that you have to do it all by your self. And live being alone. It was like you're even relying your own happiness to other people which is not a good habit.
I'm sure you can make it. It just takes a little time and practice. I'm sure you'll love being alone sometimes, because you'll discover more about your self. You'll learned things you thought you can't do even in your wildest dream. You'll sure be amazed of your self.
Anyways, wish you all the best.
Enjoy the rest of the weekends!

ur……i prefer to eat alone most of time.i am a student and usually i have to stay at school for more than one week.so dinner time is so precious for me to relax or think something personal.and the most important is,i'm not good at talking and chatting with others.Sometimes when i have lunches with friends i could hardly find amazing topics, which traps both us into an embarrassing situation.
haha,happy to sharing.Nice Day!!

Oh, I'm just like you, when I was still in university. That's the time that I'd learned to ate alone. Though at first I felt a little bit lonely. I'd missed the talked and laughter the people that I'd used to share while eating. But later I get used on it. You know what, there were even times that I just don't like having company while eating.
Well I've experienced that trying to talked about something that I don't really feel like, just for the reason to end the silence. Or you just want to entertained the person that you're went while eating. But it's okay...sometimes we're put in awkward situations, and we'd learned somehow. Am I right?
Thanks for sharing with us.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

When i was young, we like you have to eat as a family group. If anyone is missing, we too have to wait for them. But times have changed, and now whoever is hungry can start to eat first. So sometimes my mother does not know how much to cook as she has no idea how many will be eating in the house. Anway, sha always cooks more than is necessary, just in case all came back for dinner. Yes, there is always left overs.

i definitely enjoy eating with company than alone. i never go out of the house to eat or dine alone in a restaurant or a simple food court. if i had to be alone, i will just cook with whatever ingreadients i have at home and eat at home. the only time i eat alone is when im in uni or when im having a break during working hours. i prefer to eat alone in uni because this way i get to do the things i need to do, like preparing for tutorials and stuff without interruptions from friends..

I most definitely prefer to eat by myself. In fact I should probably be eating with my dad in a few minutes but I asked specifically to eat alone because it felt so uncomfortable last time, like something is expected of me which I couldn't deliver. I don't mind eating with my father and my brother, but just one of them alone isn't any good.
As for larger groups I am like you when eating in groups. I tend to eat (or drink) when I am nervous so if I am eating a help yourself meal in company I go way over the top. Either that or I get very paranoid about how I eat because I tend to eat much slower than everyone else, so the enjoyment it gone.
That said I do prefer to eat in restaurants with people, it is less nerve-wrecking that way lol!
Happy mylotting,
Dranz

My family never eats together. I prefer to eat alone. This is because when i eat with someone i dont know if i should talk or not. i dont know if the other wants me to be quiet so that they can enjoy their meal or if they are like me and feel like its akward when its silent.

Oh, that must be tough on you. Especially when you're in social occasions. But I guess you can learned to get into conversation, if you'll try. I think mostly people love to talked or want to engage even in a little conversation while eating.
When I was a kid when were eating with my family. My parents often asked what happened on our schools and studies and everything that we want to tell,or keep as secret. So then I learned that eating with someone is a good way to talked over, or get to know the person or the best way to bond with the person.
Yeah, it felt so awkward when you're eating with a person and just be quite. It's hard to just keep on staring your food, or on the ground or looking to the other corner. That's why it's good to strike up a conversation, and mostly you can feel if the person want to talk or not.
Anyways, thanks for sharing with us
Have a great day!
