Are You Considerate to Women, Kids And Aged People?

Population Explosion - Population is exploding around the world especially in developing nations. Not much has been done to curb its growth. Today, the uncontrolled growth of population can be attritbuted as the main reason for many evils in society. Poverty, illetrecy, crime etc are a direct result of excess population

Personally i have my own judgment with regards to showing sympathy to women, kids and aged men. I live in India, which has a huge population. In fact far too many than we can feed. Ours is a male dominated society, where females have less say in many matters. Males decide how a female should be. He decides the size of the family etc etc. So i personally hold men repsonsible for the population explosion we see today. So i show more sympathy to kids and women and not to men. I offer my seat to women or kids but never to aged men, who i feel deserves to stand, for having created this situation.

I have sympathy for the people you mentioned but I don't allow anyone to walk over me just because they are older or kids. I use to always give my seat up on the bus to elderly women until once when I was with my son and about 8 months pregnant with my 2nd son. I went to step on the bus when an elderly woman pushed me in the stomach and I lost my balance. Fortually the bus driver saw this happen and helped me onto the bus and found me a seat, I actually started to have a few contractions and was very scared. This old woman never even said sorry!!! So now I watch people first then if they are really frail I will give up my seat. My MIL also pulls the "Poor me, I'm old and frail" and I believed her until she beat me in the face. As for young kids some of them need more tough love and less indulgence!!

yes some women can be dominating too. But i find men more agressive and assertive in family matters. In india where the population is too high, i hold the men responsible and so i have less sympathy for them...thx

I don't know in other cultures but I have noticed here in Japan that women are the ones who rule the nest. It looks like the husband is in charge but all of the major decisions are up to the wife, especially concerning the education of the kids. Maybe in India the women need more education about family planning and what they can do. From Indian friends I had back in the UK the women were always a force to be dealt with, but maybe that was because they grew up in two different cultures British outside the home, Indian inside the home. I would love to visit India one day but it won't be able to for a long time.....money is just too tight right now.

I am Hispanic and most of us are taught to show respect to our elders regardless if they are male or female. So i try my best to be courteous and show sympathy to elders but some of them are plain bitter and mean.

Hai preethanju!I am also from India and I am considerate towards kids, women and old people too despite their gender.Male or female, when they are old,I think we have to be considerate towards them.If the traveling is a short distance, say in a town bus, then I would consider. But in a long travel,I don't consider them.Cheers!

Why should you blame old men alone always? Not all old men reproduced a lot. There are wise people who planed their family well. And you can't be questioning them that how many kids they have before being considerate. So,don't generalize all and widen your heart to all old people who deserve consideration. To add, there are more wicked women in this world too.Cheers!

In my opinion, when itt comes to any human being, I think we all deserve respect. I have no problem holding a door for anyone, lending a helping hand when I can, or just showing respect and common courtesy in general.

I have sympathy for only women and kids and not for aged men. They are the creator of the problems today and they need to pay for it..thx

hi preetaanju Let me first say have a great sunday. Yes I too do same thing what you say. Because I am An Indian. Actually we need to change our attitude by which we can think broadly. See all good and broad open people are usually gone out of Country or reach to top.You are doing the right thing. But ladies are more capable than an aged. Kids are going up let then learn to handle the situation. WHat do you say? do you agree with me?

I try to be. Once again, I'm quite clear that I've made a few errors. But again, who doesn't? I always let people who only have one item ahead of me in the grocery store ahead of me unless I'm in a rush. If it's an old person, I might even let them go ahead with more than one item. As for children, little kids love me. I think it's because I'm a their sized adult. A couple of my PCA's have kids and say regularly that their kids ask them to come to work with them to hang out with Martina and Richard (my cat). As far as women are concerned, even though in America women are more equal to men than in other places, I still think it's nice to try to be extra respectful of them. The fact that you're doing so shows well upon you.

I do not know exactly whether you are a male or female but I think you are totally wrong here. Women in India are given way too many facilities and reservation than any other women in the world. still some of the women are always complaining without reason. Even 50% of the bus seats in India are reserved for women. Tell me one country where there is such thing. I will NEVER give my seat to any women as women in our country already have seats reserved for them instead I will give it to some old age man or someone who is tired. There is reservation given to women in every field but still they are asking for more. This is just ridiculous. I will not blame the men. There are lots of countries in the world which are male dominated and where women do not get anything. You know which are those countries I'm talking about. But still women from those countries do not complain.
