something through it,maybe i opened my dairy,i can share my feeling of happyness, suffuring, success, work, life, and so on.i found that the human's life is limited,i often waste much time and nothing could be succeed,so i often regret the
time is cruel,i write it and hope to remember something, this is my process of growing and become my forever momery.

Hello Bingchen, why even the bible urges us to write the vision and make it plain. So that he that comes along later can take hold of the vision and run with it. Your children may not want to read about every single thing that you've written down inside of you diary. But one thing they will learn from you is that their mother had a dream. You've written things down and that is the proof of it. My dreams are big also. So I tend to write down quite a lot. I try not to waste much time. But i've found a very good way to spend my time here at mylot and yet to have it still be considered a quality waste of time. Good luck to you. keep writing,Happy mylotting.

I cannot say that its a bad habit, but like you said maybe it will prove dangerous, if you jote down all your thoughts on the dairy, but I think thats what we do on internet also, and it is also stored somewhere and we dont think about it, if its on a book at least its within our reach, cannot say the same about internet....

Writing dairy!..That is something that I do now. I only wished that I had started one years ago. My sons are adults now. I see my grandkids doing little things and saying little things. I write these down in a diary. When they get older I will let them read it. A diary can keep the past in a active mode years later. There may be things that has come about that you may not remember all the details. By keeping the diary you can resort to it for information that is needed. A dairy is always good.

Well how can any guy readout hid dairy when he's still on earth after you non existence may be fine, but this is no apt, diaries are meant for reading when a person after his entire life's works get relaxed and with his family in the old age, the time when past memory is getting diminished you have the diary to give you a whole lot of pleasure of past life giving the full image of our life.

For a long time I wrote in a diary, or Man journal as I always put it. I think that when I wrote in it it helped me through a lot of problems at the time. The reason behind that is that putting your thoughts down on paper sometimes can help you think things out. I recently went through one of my old journals and saw all the things I wrote, drew, and listed and it helped me get a grasp on my life even today. so I say it's a good habit.

I have always kept a diary. It is good because whatever stresses are in life can be relieved by writing it own. If you don't want people to know what you have written, you can always write in a code you can understand. At the end of each year, I destroy my diaries anyway. For me, it is not about keeping a record I can read about later, but about sorting out stuff in my mind in the here and now. - Derek

sanjana...You are not lazy. I believe that you are not into writing. That is okay. Not everyone likes to write. Just call yourself lazy at all. Look your making comments on here, which is something like writing. Have a good day and keep smiling.

I have not written dairy in my life; I don't think I will write it anytime in future. When I go through nice experiences in life, I feel to write it. But, when I go through hard times, I don't want to make it in black and white and go throug it again. I want to completely forget about it. So, I finally decided to keep my nice moments in memory and forget bad moments.

Hi Raju,
There are both advantage and disadvantage of writing diary. This is is a kind of autobiography and therefore when you write your diary you should be true to yourself and if you really become true to yourself there is a problem that you have to write even the worst thought for someone you know and if by chance your diary falls on somebody else's hand and all the contents are read all your secrets are revealed and you could be thus blackmailed.
If you just pen down important events only its ok or else its better you did not write diary at all.

that is true. we should not write every thing down on the diary. only write those things that we are prepared for some one else to read it if by any chance some one else get a hold it and did read what was written down on the pages of that diary.

Yes Rajib
It is true. Advantage and disadvantage are there in writing diary. But don't worry you are good person so you can write freely. Actuallt what happen we used to write very important information which should be disclosed or write in diary. That why i said as real evidence in case of any mishap. Hope I can make you understand

Hi Raju. As a matter of fact, I do write in my diary or journals nearly every day. For me, it is a way of keeping track of what goes on now so that I can look back on it through the years--different events and problems solved, etc.
It is also a good way to sort out one's feelings, express emotions, and such.

About the only thing I am able to write for any period of time is a dairy, purely because I love to see how I change as years go by and so having one is essential. Mine tends to be more mundane than something which can be used against me later too. It is usually more about what I ate and watched on TV, rather than people I associated with or anything because that is what tends to interest me. I tried one of the other types once but just couldn't fit it into my days after I left university and dropped it in the end. I do think that diaries are good things to do though because they can help to organise thoughts and lay matters to rest at the end of days. I always feel better after doing one anyway :)
Happy mylotting,
Dranz

Hi! In my own opinion, writing a diary is a very good habit. There are many pros than cons in keeping a diary. One is to express how your feel. To vent out your frustrations, etc. especially when nobody is trying to listen to you. A diary is just the same as a friend -- a very good friend. Another advantage of writing a diary is for keepsake/memorabilia purposes. It's always a great feeling to reminisce happy memories. Although, you don't want to remember the bad ones:) Another advantage (and probably one of the most important ones) is to record history/accounts. Let me take for example "The Diary of Anne Frank". Her diary has really helped a lot of people, especially philosophers and historians in studying the Holocaust because the accounts came from a real person. Also, it helps us people understand the sufferings of the victimized Jews.
So for me, I recommend a daily diary to everyone...who has the time at least.:)

Yes, I agree with you! Writing a diary is a good idea and I recommend it! It is good too if you are able to keep your diaries for a long time, like years. If it is online, just make sure you keep backups, cause that is how I lost years of mine!

i feel that having diary is good if you have some important dates and events to note down for future reference. if none, the it is not good to have a diary just to read all senseless things we did every day.

Dear friend, i think it is good habit as u can,t remember everything all the time and as u become old your memory diminishes so if u write everything, in future if u want to refer any date or any such incidence u can quickly refer the diary and recall everything. Writing everyday make u regular in your life.

I used to write a diary, but sadly I've slacked off, but while there is always a danger in writing the diary, i think its a good thing, as it helps you release your inner thoughts in a safe way. Without fear of judgment or reprimands, just be VERY careful where you put it. Plus now days they have electronic ones where its voice activated and things like that lol though i guess that would be typing your diary rather then writing one... 0.o same concept though LOL
