Do you prefer Postpaid or Prepaid? Why?

My preference is a prepaid mobile. I've read an article that mobile service providers are doing some king of frauds in postpaid billing. That too when a person travels from place to place doesn't know the difference in tariffs. And the mobile companies just exploit this, the article says.
What do you prefer? Why?

Hello Venkataraman. I had too many troubles and expenses with post paid, and I hated the long contract commitments they required. So now, I go with only pre-paid for my cell phone and love that method.

Hi vraman,
I have two mobile phones that I carry along in my bag. One is post paid and the other is prepaid. If you ask me now which you prefer I would say I pick up the post paid one. The reason is that I can go on talking as long as I require, and this facility is not there in prepaid. I have had several embarrassing moment with this prepaid as before the talk was over it cut its connection like a stupid fellow.

There is not much of a difference between Post paid and pre paid. The reason being in pre paid, they charge a service charge and for a refill of say Rs.100, you get only Rs.80 or so. In the case of Post paid, we are charged a fixed amount every month.
Since I use my mobile phone a lot, with my other collegues, I have a CUG post paid connection.

I use my cell phone way too much to be on pre-paid. I use my cell phone for work reasons as well & every month, I use somewhere between 3,000 - 5,000 minutes. My phone bill comes out to $123/month. With most of the pre-paid service, my bill would come out way more than that.

Hey,
I also prefer prepaid, mainly because you have control over what you actually spend, unlike other types where you pay a set monthly fee, I don't like that. I like to control what I spend, so I don't wake up with a huge bill. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I always preferred prepaid. I think it is because I feel I am in full control over how much I spend and how I manage currency. And I don't like to have bills that should be paid compulsorily. I feel free with prepaid. I can use as much as I want and if I don't want I can stop refilling currency and then if I want the next minute I can recharge instantly!
So I prefer prepaid always
Happy mylotting!

i definitely for prepaid. i have not experienced being in postpaid and so i can't say if i will hate or love using. but it seems that prepaid offers more advantage like it saves us more money from bills to be paid each time. and also there were lots of complaints from post-paid subscriber being charge for calls they never made or being charged for more time than what they had actually used.

i prefer prepaid,
becoz in that we know how much is our account balance; so, we can reduce the billing by lowering our calls,
but in postpaid; even if we think that we have to reduce our calls then also we cant stop our from that;in prepaid nowadays are more services availible than postpaid,
we can use unlimited internet on our pc via cellphones by recharging once.

I like prepaid mobile connection. In prepaid I can decide the amount to be spend monthly.I am afraid about the false billing of postpaid connections which I have to pay without any correction.Still all people don't suffer with postpaid connection. For many business people postpaid connection works best.

i wud prefer a prepaid connection because i mostly use a lot of messages. calling charges are very low on a monthly basis in my case. but if u are a caller who prefers sortin out issues then and there over the phone then a post paid connection wud make lot of sense. in post poad my guess is u will be spending nearly three hundred bucks for minimal usage but i have spent jus 150 a month on many occasions

a lot of people prefer prepaid. i am one of them.
it is because that makes me worry-free of what bills i still own later or at the end of the month.
there is now a very good competition among network providers here and we can readily choose what suits our needs. my 3 children and myself are into the same network and with a petty sum each month, we enjoy unlimited call and text for a month. we don't worry of having to reload it any time it is out of balance. that way, it would not interrupt us in any emergency call (in case we ran out of load).

hello venkat,
i use postpaid because i feel much more secured that in case of emergency i would never run out of balance and moreover most of the service providers offer cheaper call rates with postpaid compared to pre-paid.There are many more benefits associated with post paid for certain states in india donot have roaming with pre-paid.Post paid always saves time as because you donot have to top up your phone every week or so!!

Hi Venkataraman. Indeed, its really a nice topic been started by You. In my college days, I used to prefer a Pre-paid connection. But now I have shifted to a post paid one since I find it increasingly difficult to manage with a Pre-Paid one since I need to make more number of calls. Yes, Fradulent billing is one of the major head aches in Post paid connections. But i always used to demand for a detailed billing information so that I am not getting cheated by Un-necessary billings and other stuffs. As of now, I prefer a Post paid connection as I need to make more number of calls and Corporate Post paid CUG is helping me. Have a great day ahead and Happy Mylotting. Cheers:-)

I have always use postpaid as I use my phone everyday, and it would be spendy for prepaid. Since my cell is the only phone, having prepaid would be a hassle when I run out of minutes having to add some more. It just wouldn't be feasible to have prepaid. I use my cell everyday. I don't have a landline, so I do need my cell and postpaid is it for me. Now, if I has a home phone, and if I didn't need my cell everyday, then I would probably have prepaid. My cell is my way of life for me. Have a very good day, and happy mylotting.

hi venka.. i prefer postpaid because i dont have to keep checking for the available balance and run out of amount on important discussion. If you think mobile providers do lot of frauds then definitly happen even in prepaid. Till now my provider is going good and never had any problem for past five years

I use a prepaid cell. I don't use one very often and can't have one on at work, so having a contract and a monthly fee isn't right for me. I like just loading it up once in a while when I need to. No hassle and one less bill for me to worry about.
