OF all your travels..what was the fanciest, most expensive hotel you ever stayed at?
How much did it cost?
Did you book it online or call up hotels from the yellow pages?
I would say the most expensive is where I am staying now.. it's not the fanciest
in the least..no ammenities..but it's 1000.00 a month.. all utilities paid.
There is full size fridge, little kitchenette..it's just one room
I booked it from a respnose on craigslist..it's call extneded stay hotel.
What about you?

I stayed at a very fancy hotel in New York whose name I don't recall. I was speaking at the Ford Foundation. I remember it didn't look like any hotel I'd ever seen. It looked like a little house. Next weekend, I'm staying at the Boston Plaza Hotel for another conference. This time, courtesy of the National Foundation for the Arts which is giving me a grant for half the project and my mother has put up the money for the other half. I'm expecting that to be really fancy.

To clarify, I'm not giving the conference. I'm going to the conference and usually speaking at them. That's why I get to stay in fancy hotels free or cheap. Someday I would like to give a conference, but I haven't yet.

For me, the most expensive (and probably fanciest) hotel that I have stayed at was Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. It was very nice. I think my share was $200 per night but I'm not entirely sure. My friends picked it.
Usually I stay places that I've heard of because a friend has stayed there.

I was traveling around Turkey with my ex-boyfriend. He didn't like the accommodation available in the towns and villages that we went to. He liked the sleeping car we were in on a train. When we got back to Istanbul he wanted some luxury. He booked a couple of nights in a really pricey hotel. It cost in the region 100 dollars a night. It had a traditional type bathroom. Wow!
Also when I was dating him we went to the Seychelles and he again liked high quality accommodation. I had booked us budget type places but he hated them. I got in to go in one of the guest houses. He paced around the island all night unable to go to bed from the fear of all the insects. I had an insect net and slept soundly. He got us to check into a pricey lodge style hotel. It cost about 100 euros a night.
For both those accommodations we booked in person once we had arrived in the destinations.

The most expensive hotel I've stayed at was actually a bed and breakfast. It was $200 per night, but it was FUN! We only stayed one night. In the evening the place had a happy hour where all the guests gathered for a snack which was big enough to be a meal, and a free bar. The breakfast was free in the morning, too. I think it was well worth the price. I can't wait to go to another bed and breakfast.

It really wasn't too bad once you consider we got 4 meals out of it- two meals at the happy hour, then 2 breakfasts. The B&B was near the Grand Canyon Railroad, which we had riden on that day as a tour.

I planned and saved my money for a whole year just to stay in Hard Rock Bali on the New Year Eve. I usually saved my money then only to travel at the end of the year.

The most expensive hotel I stayed in the State Ministry of Finance House. Is to give our region to go for grain storage. That hotel in our capital.Because it is public funds can be reimbursed. And we went to several individuals. So I did not then asked the price. But I know it is surely very expensive.Because they are stars. Also entertain a lot of foreign guests.

I haven't really stayed over night in an hotel before, however I have worked for hotel companies and I have to by far the best was Harts Hotel here in Nottingham. The design is very modern but reflects traditional type buildings, with amazing use of glass and shape.
Probably one of the finest to stay at within the Midlands too.
Also the sister property "Hambleton Hall" is a breath-taking hotel, the surrounding views makes it a very nice relaxing place to go.

I don't choose to stay in fancy hotels but have done twice. For my best friend's hen night we stayed at the Tower Thistle Hotel in London. She worked in travel and so had a discount otherwise it would have cost loads of money. My ex-boyfriend made us stay in Istanbul's best hotel. It cost loads of money and our room was luxurious. We had our own Turkish bath. Wow!

I traveled a lot for the Company I used to work for, we usually had to stay at the medium rate motels, I had a credit card and registered for points at all the chains! I was driving thru Denver on my way to Salt Lake City this was in Early November, I didn't know the area and wanted to get thru Denver to avoid early traffic so I got to one of the resort ski towns and went in to a Marriott, used the card it was about $85.00 still off season rates! I gave them my points card and soon was heading up to the room! WOW! it was a master suite over looking the ski mountain! They were making snow and there were some snow boarders out! the room was made for a king! I called the desk and made sure there was no mistake, and was told it was the last weekend before the rates went up and since I was a card member they wanted to treat me right! I was blown away! There was a hot tub in the room and one on the balcony, a coffee grinder for the fresh coffee in the morning, giant HDTV in the bedroom and one in the main room, a computer with a giant monitor. The whole works, glass, glasses, not plastic, I could go on and on. As I traveled for a living I was not aware that they even had rooms that nice! tdemex

$85 is till kind of reasonable. I hear rates here in NJ at $89 just plain jane run of the mill hotel room. .the more features the higher you et. I have found that if you have "extended stay" you get the better per night rate.

I the most expensive hotel I ever stayed at was a hotel in Budapest where the rooms cost more than $200 per day. I didn't intend to stay at such an expensive hotel, but from home I only booked a hotel room for the first night. I didn't want to stay there more than one day, because the staff was rude and the room was relatively expensive.
The next day I decided to find a room in one of the hotels that was mentioned in my guidebook, but that turned out to be more challenging than I thought. I visited hotel after hotel, some of them were closed and some of them had so empty rooms. I spent many hours walking from place to place and then I finally decided to spend the night in one of the expensive hotels. I didn't really want to pay that much for a room, but I had nowhere else to sleep, so I decided to stay for one night and continue looking for a better hotel the day. The room was really nice and the view from the window was amazing.
The next day I was walking around in the streets and I found a guesthouse that wasn't mentioned in my guidebook. I got a room there and stayed there for the rest of my trip, 4 nights in that room cost less than one night in the expensive hotel!

Abroad, the fanciest I have stayed so far was at Hong Kong Gold Coast Hotel. It's a five star resort hotel. I stayed there while I was on a tour in Hongkong for 4 days. I have a great balcony seaview room that cost me $2,300 Hongkong Dollars per night. I so love the view and the food is superb. Locally, I love the Shangri-la Hotel. Simply elegant.

A thousand bucks per month, not so bad for current economy and hotel market. So, why would you have it rented for a whole month? You gonna travel that long and stay there that long too? The most expensive hotel I ever paid is at Las Vegas, excalibur hotel. Me and my friends share one room, and each of us pay around $200 for 4 days stay. Expensive huh, 3 of us paying $200 each.
