Do you turn off your computer at night..?

it depends if the file that i've downloaded is already finished. sometimes i set the program to automatically turn off the pc once it completes the download.

I don't turn off my computer at night too. same reason.. mostly I download at night only but yeah I don't keep it turn on in idle mode.. once download complete my computer shut down automatically..

i turn them off to save electricity... electric bills are kinda high today, so one must conserve energy by turning off some electrical appliances inside the house... only the lights outside are on when everyone is asleep...

Hi, i often turn off my comouter at night recently, i download games, movies, animes and mangas, but i also upload many files, only four hours i don't downlaod and upload a lot, so i finish my work and go back home, after supper, i turn on pc and download files, at the same time i watch movies or play games. I usually turn off the computer at night. I only use it at daytime including some important downloads. At night I turn it off to save electricity bill.

well the thing is i download a lot of things and so i keep it on the whole night actually i have two computers. one has a very good configuration. it is a new one and i use it for my work. and then other one is old. i can hardly work on it but then it works so i use it to download things. and that is why it is kept on the whole night and sometimes even the whole day. :P

Only if I am not downloading would I turn off my PC. I do turn off its peripherals - monitor, printer, speaker and scanner to minimize electric consumptions. This is if I would sleep late, if I left my wife doing her computing then my download is done fore till next day.

It all depends on the need. When some work is going on or some download is in progess, I use to keep it turned on but when their is no work, I turn it off. Well when I use to download something, I keep the option of turn off automatically when download finish on, so when the download finish, my computer automatically gets turned off. Well their is no harm if it keeps running 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The only loss is of electricity.

of course i do, cause i don't like to work on the computer at night. i just sleep cause i get tired already at night time and i don't have the patience to stay in front of the computer that long. anyways, i used to forget to turn of the computer at night but now cause i feel that i am not that motivated to be active online as i used to so i just turn off the computer less i forget to turn it off.

Yes, I do switch off my computer when I go to bed. I do it to save electricity and also it is not safe to keep it sitched on throughout the night. My friend Sheeba does the same thing like you. She is a graphic designer and very fond of animation movies. She will be downloading cartoon and animation movies all night and therby won't switch off the computer.

I usually don't shut down my computer at night because I have tons of downloads but I always turn on the automatic shutdown on my uTorrent or shutdown timer freeware. So everytime my downloads finishes it automatically shuts down.

I used to leave it on all nite until recently when I had to buy new battery for my laptop so now I'm more careful, plus the computer needs time off just like our bodies.
