About MUN (model united nations)How to avoid conflict abt award in conference?

I am a Chair of Model United Nation in our school in China and have attended several conferences. In conferences students just so desperate to awards committee will give that they want to be the main submitter of the documents all the time. They can no longer corperate with each other because of such a stupid award! Meanwhile schools encourage students to get glory for their own reasons.The point is MUN is not an activity which is about winning , it is about how to communicate and deal with global problems! What measures can be taken in order to avoid the problem mentioned above?
