How do you get rid of a wart?!

I've never had a wart in my life and suddenly I have one on my index finger. I've been using a Walmart brand of wart remover that I dab on every night but it's been a month and it's not gone. Do you have a wart remedy that works?

I have researched about hpv and I have read a lot about the effectiveness of this organic and way cheap, shall I say treatment for warts. The apple cidar vinegar, specifically the brand Bragg's. You have to soak the wart in a cotton with apple cidar and put a ban-aid to it for couple of days. It can be painful and would feel the burn effect but heard it's worth the pain as it is very effective. It works for most people as far as I know according to what I've read. You can try to do some researching about the apple cidar. I hope this helps.. But I'm sure there are other over the counter creams that can treat warts.

I too have heard about the apple cidar one. IT basically kills that excessive skin. Some have said the wort turns black.

Thanks for that suggestion! I will try it, I'll always go for a natural cure over a chemical one!

Hi dragon.., I just thought of dropping by if what I have suggested about the apple cider works for you? Have you tried it yet? I hope your wart is gone. Takecare.

yes, it's better to go to a hospital and let the expert do it. but if you want a natural way, try to use aloe vera plant (if u can find it). it's very effective. choose a mature one then cut it. you should see a yellow sap and that's what u will dab to your fingers from time to time it dries up. not the white gel of the aloe vera, although it's possible but not as effective as the yellow sap. it will be removed without you noticing it. ^^;

I always knew aloe vera was good for healing but never knew it could be used to destroy warts!

i knew it because my bf used it before on his foot. and it was effective more than the creams from pharmacies. if i can remember, it was only like 3-5days and his wart was removed. maybe it differs on how big your wart is but i'm sure it works. ^^;

I have heard that apple cider vinegar removes warts, I have not tried this so I can not be for sure. You place a few drops of the vinegar on the wart and cover it with a bandaid and leave it there for 6 hours or more, when you remove the band aid put more vinegar on the wart place a new band aid over the wart repeat this process for up to 2-3 times a day until the wart comes off.

That would be better than that stinky commercial wart remover! I'll try this one, thanks!

My partner has a recurring wart on his back. He has had it frozen three times, it goes for a few months then returns. I know other people who have had them frozen, and it has worked for them, so I guess everyone is different. I did see a discussion recently (I don't know if it was on Mylot) about the benefits of bananas, and one thing I remembered from it was that you can tape a piece of banana skin over a wart to remove it - might be worth a try.

That's interesting, I would never think a banana peel was good for anything.

I had some for the longest time and finally got sick of them, so I decided to do a little research. If you pluck the heads out with a pair of tweezers and then paint over them with any kind of nail polish they disappear in about a week! It has something to do with the chemicals or something, I really don't know. It just works! Leave the nail polish on for a couple of hours before you remove it, though, and when you do just chip at it. Don't put any soap or anything on until the paint is totally peeled off, or else the paint won't be able to pluck the roots out of the warts!

That sounds reasonable. I haven't done anything about it yet, I've been so busy. Strangely enough, I dreamed last night about painting my fingernails, which I haven't done for years! I remember trying to choose between blue and purple and settling on the blue.

My hubby has tried the OTC remidies and nothing has worked yet. The only thing to do is get it removed by a Dr. However, my hubby is chicken of needles & dr's in general so he'll just have to live with it!

I'd like to have it frozen off but it's so expensive! One of the respondents from China said it was very cheap to do, I guess he's never lived in the states!

Well when I had a verruca on my foot when I was much younger, I went to the doctor and she would put liquid nitrogen on it once a week in order to freeze it and then in the long run, the verruca disappeared.

I may end up doing that if the tea tree oil remedy doesn't work. Our doctors are awfully expensive, though, and it would take awhile for me to save up for it.

Hello,dragon54u.I have two warts on one of my finger myself.It is very disturbing and I want to remove them also.As far as I know,you'd better go to a hospital for treatment.They will freeze your wart and it's very fast.It does not hurt so don't be afraid.Here in my hometown it doesn't cost much to heal it. Have a nice day.

Medical things are very expensive here in America so I'll have to save up for a few months in order to have it frozen. That's a good idea, thank you.

I'll have to look into that. Right now I can't afford much of anything so I'll have to save up for it. I hate the way it looks and feels!
