Hi twilightviolet, Ramadan is a holy month for Muslim. They will perform fast started from the sun raise until sunset for the whole month. In general, fasting mean didn't eat or drinks for the day. But those who really understand the meaning of fasting, they will be more careful with all their senses. The eyes, ears, mouth, thought and heart (means). They will not see, heard, say, think or means something bad and can handicap their fast. As a Muslim, Ramadan is the month of merciful, forgiveness and blessing. Everybody will try to improve themselves. They will do more prayer, recite Al-Quran and any good deeds because they believe they will get more pahala then when they did it on the other months.

Hi, Ramadan it the name of the 9th month in Hijri Callendar(Lunar). In this month Quran started revealing at the time of Prophet Mohammad. This month is considered as blessed month, and more rewards are offered in this month for good deeds and worships than other months. One night in the last days of this month will be a 'night of power' whoever worship and pray more in that time will get several multiples of rewards, but it is unknown which night is that. A Muslims should fast in all days of this month. Fasting means abstain from all kind of food or drinks or even water from dawn to sunset, and abstain from evil deeds and engage in good deeds, worship and prayers. This the time for physical, mental and spiritual revival. For fasting we wake up before dawn and eat something, and at the time of sunset the fasting will be ended by having food. Peace.
