I love story books. It is my favorite. In each story that I read, its like taking me to a different place, meet new people, learn their culture, and as if experience precious life lessons. My favorite book is the Bible. It has many stories and powerful at that. It lets us see many things that amazingly we can even apply to our own lives. It is so amazing because this Book has been written thousands of years ago. But every time I read it I always find a relevant lesson to what concerns me now. As I read each story, it creates a special soothing and comforting presence to me. Not just a few times that the story in the Bible changes many of my perspective on certain situations and kind of people... I strongly recommend the reading of the Bible! Have you tried it? Why not today?

I enjoy various genres of books. I'm really opened to different literary genres. However, I'd have to say that the books that I read most often are mystery and suspense novels. They are very intriguing and captivating.

The stories in the Bible are really great. They are interesting and they have a lesson in them. I have read the Bible when I was younger but now I seem to just read the parts that I really like.

I have been reading the Bible since I was young too. And yet until now, as an adult I still find it fascinating. The stories become more real to me than before. Some of the stories I have read before but as I read it again, I still find precious lesson I have never seen before. Reading it is like opening a treasure box, where you get to have new precious jewel again and again. Try it! :)

Not all books can bring the encouragement we are looking for. I only know one that can. Its the Bible. You may not be used to it, or it may sound weird to you. But many people like me can attest to the many help the Bible has brought into our lives. I challenge you to try it.

I used to read the bible when i was young and found it interesting. Sad to say, I seldom read it now. Currently, I am fascinated by mystery and suspense of Sidney Sheldon, law and court by John Grisham and also Dan Brown's writings. You will learn a lot by reading people's culture, tradition history, you name it. Reading will also take you places, a privilege given to the wide reader.

I love John Grisham too. Very crisp and meaningful lines he usually writes. Only a handful of his writing have I not read yet. Sidney Sheldon, I guess I read one or two of his book. Dan Brown's are too controversial to me. I find them hard to believe too. The Bible of all the books I read was the only one that I find real and you can also stand believing on its words. Its weird sometimes I admit, but all the same has the sense of unity. Its amazingly nurturing too.

I agree with you. There is no book that can be at par with the bible. The bible will surely enlighten anyone who has doubts and confusion. The writings there though debated by some is the word of the LORD and for that, I'll keep holding on until my very last breath. People may contradict it and that is understandable coz you can't please nor ask everybody to believe it, but for me the bible is and bible will for the rest of my life, is the very best book ever created.

I love reading books. Before I would read different kinds of books, but since I am very busy at present, I am being selective of the books that I read. I choose to read informative books instead of just story books. I want to make the most of my time and spend it learning new things by reading books. I try to read the Bible daily too. I don't see the Bible as a story book, I still consider it as an informative book. There are so many truths in the Bible that we have to learn and apply in our lives and its something that we learn day by day. If I have to miss my reading session, I would at least make sure that I get to read the Bible in the morning

I love to read easy reading books. Biographies, autobiographies, economics, life about a part of a person's life, real life stories, etc. I used to like crime thirllers when I was a kid. Agatha christy is my favorite crime novelist. When I was a student, I used to get scolding from my mom for reading crime novels late night.

Yes reading can be so engrossing at times. Are you wearing glasses now? My sisters used to scold me to when I read at night. They say it will ruin my eyesight. Thank God I think I still have healthy eyes.

I love reading a few different authors, mostly Janet Evanovich its a great comical drama series. I have read a few stories in the bible thruout time and people have told me recently as I get time read a few stories a day or night from the Bible. I unfortunately have not gotten the time just yet but I am hoping to get some time as soon as possible seeing as I have been told about some great stories this past weekend and I know there are alot of lessons in the bible to be read and learned.

Janet Evanovich, is she russian? Well, I will try to find books written by her. I love Philip Yancey and Max Lucado. If you get across some of their books. It will be great to try them sometime. Yes, the Bible is a great book. It is relevant to what we are experiencing now. You will never be bored reading it. Try the book of Luke for a start.

Not silly at all. Reading with a purpose is the best way to read any book. And whatever type of book we read, there is always a lesson in store for us. But try to be selective too! Not all books give good lessons... :)

I have never read the bible, I do not come from a Christian background. I love to read dramas though, also books on psychology, travel, and history.
• Philippines

You don't need to be a Christian to read the Bible. Like one of our friend says here in this discussion its very informative. You will be surprise to find too many facts on psychology, travel and history all in one book- the Bible. I challenge you to try it... :)

I really like to read novels for many of the same reasons that you have described. I like that when I read a novel in my mind I become a part of the book. I have the ability to imagine what it would be like to be in that situation. It also lets me learn about how other people live without having to be thrown into their lives to feel like I've experienced it. You are definitely right about the Bible though. It is the best story book of all. I don't read it nearly as often as I should, but I really enjoy what I get out of it. The stories are great and I like that there are many different ways that they are written.

Imagination is very much needed in reading books. The more creative and imaginative you are, the more you will enjoy reading. On the other hand, I hope you will find time to read the Bible too. Its amazing how it teaches us so many practical lessons in life and how it can soothe and comfort us in times of need and despair!

I love reading, period. I love to read other kinds of genre, but I am not a big reader of horror. I love to read romance (Paranormal, contemporary, historical, Scottish, Irish, medieval, western themed romances), fiction, suspense, mystery, thriller, some non-fiction. I also like to read the Bible. I was brought up on the Bible and have read it off and on over the years.

I love to read story books but lately I have been switching to psychology, finance and business. I don't read Bible because I am not a Christian however I do believe that Jesus Christ is very prominent to Christians. I do love the story of Jesus and it did made me feel great. Deep down inside, I believe that a good book is not only suppose to be read. It is suppose to be done. We must believe that good triumphs over evil. Such story such as Jesus has inspired me a lot in my life. It plays quite a pivotal part in my life. I always believe that man can do good in life by trusting God and by reading story books it made the miracle happen. Man is made in the image of God. Do good and you will be rewarded by God. From, a non-Christian. Kudos

I like love story books but I prefer self help books. I can relate more whenever I read one especially about on enhancing or dealing with myself or someone else's. I tried reading the Bible but it was way way before back when I was in college.

I like action books. The kind with the studly FBI guy chasing down the bad guys, and of course he happens to find a pretty lady along the way! I know it's cheesy, but I just never get tired of 'em!

I read many books but the one I keep re-reading is the bible. It has new ideas all the time. When you listen to the preacher on Sundays a new thought line emerges then I have to refer to the bible to understand it better. In fact I own two bibles. One King James and the other Jerusalem I read them both to get a better understanding of issues am not very sure about. I read the bible selectively. Some stories are difficult to comprehend. For such stories I refer to the bible guide.
