It never ceases to amaze me when I think about how the human mind works and makes up who we are, individually, uniquely, we are so different, yet, so much alike.
The human brain has to be the most complicated piece of machinery to understand. Running without batteries, only electrical pulses from it's own human power plant, it can operate independently and run everything in sync and in order! It can operate the tiniest organ or fix the most complicated problem that one might encounter.
I suppose it's human behavior that never ceases to amaze me the most.. a certain problem is presented and it's up to the mind to process that thought into an action.. that we call behavior. I'm not trying to get all scientific because, to be honest, I just not that smart! but to see how some people deal with problems.. is quiet honestly, amazing to watch!
This tiny organ can remember so well that even a smell or a tune or image can jog loose a memory into the present time, Accurately remembering each scene as it unfolded.
It can pretend and play out any given fantasy with such precision that would leave any writer dumbstruck! Or perhaps re-live a certain time in life so vividly that it leaves just a smile on the face. It's capable of dreaming with such detail that it haunts or delights the soul.. Good or bad, memories are processed and labeled by this tiny organ for future analysis, in case the same kind of problem should arise.. it remembers how it dealt with it.
Watching the mind tackle a problem is nothing short of a fabulous process to see unfold!
Some have common sense.. while some are so meticulous, and down right scientific that it's almost impossible to see the reasoning of why they are doing what they do.
Relationships (good or bad) has to be one of those problems that shifts the mind into over-drive mode... I have seen people hang on to nothing and stay optimistic that it will all work it's way out.. while others seems to shut down and let go, when they have so much to hold on for.. pessimistic and unable to "deal"... they close every window or avenue and encase themselves into total darkness. breeding a fear of getting hurt like that one time back in the late 50's when "so n' so" did this and this and..... well you can't have THAT happening again!
And I've seen some who let one painful event rule them for life.. leaving no option for turning back or apology. When the heart hurts... the brain takes charge with it's own source of reasoning and advice, or so it seems. The advice that it concludes doesn't have to acceptable or even correct.. just labeled and returned to the bin of memories for later recall.
After all.. if you get burned by an iron.. your mind recalls that hurt and recalls the event and remembers what caused the pain.. therefore no repeats of the same procedure! simple! except, sometimes, that iron isn't hot! and being over careful can prevent the times that the iron would have been useful. thus a fear has now been installed by the same mind. obsessing, it generates a warning when there is no harm present.
Are ya still with me? lol
Sometimes the most sane person can become a total nutcase over something so tiny. Driving those around them even more insane. they lose all means of reasoning and make "life" around them a total nightmare.
A simple thought can cause a reaction that can quake or soothe, bombard, or comfort how we feel and how we see what is going on around us. so precisely, and yet so random..
Some people's mind work so good on their own problems that they lend out how to fix, cure, or look at your own problem. "The overachievers" so to speak. We sometimes call these overachieving problem solvers, friends! :) They have solved all their problems and got bored enough to go looking for mock problems (yours) so they can go through their files of memories and fix all your problems while waiting for something to pop up for themselves! God love em!
They first have to convince you of two things!
1. that you, are indeed, broken... and that you need fixed and
2. that they have the perfect solution tucked away nicely in their mind's file cabinet... all you have to do is hold still while they attack your problem!
A long discussion just to ask.... SO, what's on your mind today?
I fixed all my problems and I'm bored! so let's have a look at yours! lol! :)

All that and you just wanna know what's on my mind today? Seriously, I was about to sign up for a Jung course online just so I could have a fighting chance of getting through it all without developing some sort of affliction like OCD or Munchausens by proxy along the way!
Well, when I first saw the title of this discussion, the first thing that popped into my head was "Things that make you go....." and the song that goes with it, but then I realised that I'm actually more concerned about eating some cake. I don't HAVE any cake either, so it's quite a dilemma! Sure, I could walk to the bakery, but that's BS 'cos it involves effort.
Aside from that, I'm trying to decide whether to move from my apartment or not! Ooooh and I'm also wondering why flys are called "flys" when everything else that flys isn't? That's just messed up if you ask me and totally biased.

Are these special brownies, or brownie brownies??? And don't hit me up with that "Of course they're special, I made 'em!" crap either. I found some small cakes in the fridge too! (That's why I've been so quiet the last hour) They were hiding behind the sheeps head.

My biggest problem, at the moment, is I don't have any major problems to work through. So, now what do I do? Can you fix that problem, or help me fix it? Do I really want it to be fixed?
Hey, I have missed you!

It is curious how we process so much stuff. I guess we all learn to deal with our problems differently. You seriously wanna know what's on my mind today? Well, I will tell you...know remember you asked for this..I have been wondering for the last several days about veggie burgers and other vegan type meats and have been wondering how they get their meat flavored taste like beef or chicken? Do they use a beef or chicken stock? And if so isn't that a no-no since it is a animal product even if it is considered the stock? I had been thinking to make a discussion about it, but haven't so far.
And of the ten things we absolutely need in this world to survive..wouldn't toilet paper and deodorant be on that list..Should I paint my nails Ruby red, snowflake white or Carnival Pink or all three What nail polish is better Mary Kay or Avon's Speed Dry? Which would last the longest without having to recoat? Yes, crazy I know but you asked..
Are diet pills really needed or is it just in our head we need them to succeed to lose weight from all the hype about them on television?Do I snore when I am asleep?
And we are never ever really stupid...we are just unlearned in certain things..so if we really wanted to be as smart as the next fellow..We just have to use our brains as a sponge and absorb all the info we can..So can you handle those questions on my mind today? I have many many more.....when your done with those.lol

I love real meat. I was trying a diet health kick though that I thought I would try some veggie burgers. Because I probably do need to cut back on red meats. But if they are full of chemicals I don't know....I found recipes online made of mushrooms beans and brown rice..but no beef flavoring..don't know how that is going to taste.. But thanks for all the help..
Okay next question..Is Green tea still good and healthy for you when it is bottled up by companies, does it lose it's potency of antioxidants because it is bottled?
Are we related? Because I seem to have a bunch in my family also..lol

Ya know what doesn't make sense to me? vegans who purchase the veggie burgers that taste like meat.. I mean, honestly.. if you hate meat .. why would you want a substitute for it? for example... I hate Cadillacs so I go looking for a car that CLOSELY resembles one? what's the logic? huh?
meat flavor in those things are chemicals which is more harmful than the meat! duh! where is the sense in that! oh! and candy apple red toenails just speaks volumes to me.. don't ya think? I've tried the quick drying stuff from avon.. it's only oil! I dunno how it works but it kinda does.. it shaves a good 2 secs off the original drying time! diet pills are a misconception! peeps think they work and therefore they work! it's all in the mind there is a book called "it's not what you are eating.. but what's eating you" and it seems to make sense to me since most people over eat when they feel powerless, depressed or anxious or hopeless and/or helpless.. I believe most eating problems come from those type o' emotions.. I could be wrong though.. I ain't no doctor, ya know.. but I have had all them emotions and because I'm so opposite from everyone else I don't eat when I feel those emotions.. where am I going with this? I dunno.. just trying to make a buck here.. just nod and act like I'm making tons of sense... ok?
and some stupid people are just that.. stupid. only cause they think they know it all and it leaves no room for being informed because they think they already know when, in fact, they don't know beans about anything but you can't tell any different cause they are stupid! duh! I have a family full of these educated idiots! a family reunion is a real hoot! I drive em all insane cause I ask things that I know they know nothing about! hahaha!
OK..... done! anymore?? lol!

The mind...Uhmmm...What is on mine today? Let’s see...This is today only:
Why do people fight?
What is good luck versus bad luck? Who controls all that stuff?
Why am I broke? Who says money can’t buy happiness?
Why is it so hard to get the oven clean? Why would anybody want to clean an oven? Why am I out of time again?
Will I make it out of here in one piece?
There.

First things first! HIYA PAULA!!!!!!! I MISSED YOU!!!!!!!!
ok.... that's outta the way.. let's get to thinkin' here! lol!
People fight for many reasons but the main reason is to show superiority over another human being, which is kinda stupid when you think about it. Is anyone REALLY better than anyone else?
Good luck versus bad luck.. hmmmm!.. good luck gets you the things in life that you feel that you need and want and deserve.. while bad luck doesn't. Is there such thing as luck? In my personal opinion, there is no such thing as luck (not really) there are situations that lead up to a solution.. if you like the solution.. we call that luck.. if not.. then it's still luck but it's of the bad variety. I think it's fate.. what is to be will happen and what isn't.. won't.
Who is over this stuff.. well you are going to have to judge that for yourself.. some lean on their beliefs and understanding of a higher power... My opinion doesn't make my choice right for you.. only for me.. I believe that God is over our fate..In my mind that just seems to fit perfectly! but, again, it's a personal preference and different thought process that leads you to your own conclusion :)
why are you broke? cause! maybe it's fate! maybe it's that bad luck thing coming to bite you on your butt! *shrugs* who knows? but you have more things that money can't buy.. ok, maybe rent, but not buy! lol!
Money can't buy happiness.. I have actually seen this before! Many of my family members are millionaires and even multimillionaires! and I have to say.. they are the most miserable people I've ever seen in my life! they trust no one.. and they can't! they can't say that anyone is their REAL friend.. and not just after their money! can you imagine? it would be horrible! I've been rich and I've been middle class.. and I much prefer being middle class :) happiness doesn't grow in the bank! how many people do you see standing in line at the bank with a huge smile on their face, eh? lol
Oh! the old oven cleaning thing! OMG! I won't even go there! I would rather just get a new stove than to clean it! lol!
Time waits on no one... sad but true.. you are given an allotted amount of time to do what you have to and after that.. it's gone... never to return! this is why you have to make the best of today! (kinda sounds like a yogurt commercial.. doesn't it? LOL) but you get the point!
Will you make it out in one piece? chances are good that you will.. but you won't be alive! sorry to break it to ya girl! but that time thing we were talking about.. umm. yeah.. people have an expiration date even though it's not stamped on you bottom!
There! Done!
hugs!!!

Well Stormy, you are one wise woman! You have answered all my questions and that is so nice of you. I had those things on my mind but I did not expect answers but you took so much trouble for me, thank you dear friend.
I tend to agree with you in regards to fate, sometimes it is easier to just 'go with the flow' because it is impossible to make anything happen.
In regards to money, I see your point but I would be a lot happier if I did not have to concern myself with finances all the time!
I tried to clean the oven the other day but I gave up and you're right...I checked...There's no use by date stamped on my bottom! (LOL)

I am a problem solver by nature. I can normally come up with a good solution to most problems I am faced with, although some of my solutions aren't what others like to hear. A good example of that is with my kids. My problem is that they all tend to procrasinate and try to finds ways around doing things that need to be done. My solution is to take away free time until there things are finished. Sounds simple, but they do not like my solution so they create their own free time by disobeying.
I can't say that I can fix every problem I am posed with, but I am able to find a solution. Whether it be my problem or someone else's, I can find a solution. Actually getting the solution to fix the problem is well, another problem because we are all unique individuals and we all process thoughts a bit differently. If someone asks me for advice, I can give it, but it is up to them how to use my advice.
Does that make any sense?

I understand problem solving by nature, but rarely do I pursue other folks problems..Not that I don't want to get involved. There's a large portion of my mind dedicated to such..Its as tho I send out an unconscious beacon. When folks need, they come. Its been that way as far back as I care to remember.
For instance, about a year back I was at work. We were cleaning up after a show and about halfway thru the doin's Jeffery wanders up to me..
To explain Jeffery, nodding acquaintances at best. Drastic differences in lifestyle and social background. For him, the reticence that goes with those 'differences'.
Anyway, he wanders up and tells me he has a problem and that he felt I could help. He told me about the problems he was having with alchohol. As it happens, I had had my own major bout with it. I'm not 'clean and sober' all the time, but I'm not 'drunk and disgusting' either. Its a transition (mental shrug)..Apparently, the talk was fruitful be it the content or that I took the time for him. The 'gap' narrowed a bit between us.
Another aspect of this (metaphysical insert) is it happens ofttimes when I am going thru something myself which I can't deal with, I suppose, because of my perspective of it and while solving another's problem I set the background for solving my own..Kinda Twilight Zone-ish.
ENJOY!

The only reason I can come up with is.. it's said that men and women mature on completely different levels. Men take longer to mature, where women tend to mature at an earlier age. perhaps this is the reason :)
So while she might be younger in years.. she is on the same level of maturity as the man who is years her senior.

The whole point of this discussion is to "dump on me".. I can't fix anyone's problems.. I can't make one thing better (for either of us!).. no matter how I wish that I could.
But I can listen! I've noticed that when I feel like I am drowning in my own problems, that the one and only thing that ever made me feel an ounce better was when I was allowed to dump on someone.
Sometimes having someone to dump on, isn't always available... but I can sit and write everything that is bothering me down on paper (or computer) and look at it.. and my problems don't seem to look as HUGE as when they were stuck in my tiny, little brain. It's kinda like being able to stand back and really access the problems from a bit of a distance and put everything into better focus.
You can dump on me anytime at all.. I can't fix a darn thing, but I can listen and give you the chance to write everything down, and stand back and take a look at it from a different angle. :)
*hugs!*

dude totally, the human body brain included is the most sophisticated and intricate computer, i marvel at its workings every day, especially as i watch my niece developing into a person, i mean she is a little 3 year old person now, but it is magnificent, fascinating and humbling. it is like we are her programmers and it is important to ensure that only the right things are learnt from us.
i marvel at the bodies ability to heal and the whole healing process, and the fact that the brain has a way of protecting the body if need be, like when one faints, it is the brain's way of saying okay, time to shutdown for a bit. and memory too is indeed a funny thing , the brain as a storage device too is amazing and the ability to recall random facts that you do not even remember learning simply because you glanced at something once and the message travelled from eye to brain without you even registering it, and then was stored there.

I remember thinking the same thing as I watched my kids go from infants on up.. it was an amazing process of seeing them reason and access the information around them. even the tiniest things would intrigue them.. for a good while.
I must say that watching them take their first steps and eating their first foods or finding their first bug, created pictures that are burned in my memory! I wouldn't trade those moments of observation for anything in the world!
