I’ve never realized how many people scam until recently. I’ve been waiting 8 months to get Social Security Disability. My mother has been kind enough to support me during this transitional period. Lately she’s brought up selling her ring she bought for herself when my parents divorced. I feel terrible she’s thinking about selling her jewelry for me. So I’ve been trying to sell some items, primarily on Craigslist or eBay. In this time I have had 2 people try to scam me. One of them tried to scam me twice! I know times are tough but why try to rip off people that are in genuine financial issues to make a buck. It’s sad. I need money but I’m not out scamming people I’m trying to be honest in making additional funds. Just make me wonder why so many scammers?!?!?!

Some people just like to make "easy" money off of people in dire straits. They probably figure when a person is desperate they won't think about checking for scams. It's like sharks coming to the floundering swimmer. You see it all the time in times of disaster, like after tornadoes and such when all the rip-off contractors descend and scam people out of their money who are just trying to get their roof fixed or downed trees removed.
