Hi,
I was joined today. I started 2 discussions but it has not received many responses till now. I want to attend some discussions in the no responses tab. Later i find that all of them are having the posts less than the 20 or 30 range.
Why are you not supporting new comers well?
Also, i see some of the discussions in the new user tab. Some of the discussions has responses which are mostly related to money.
Is money matters all the time?

Of course. I do not single out any discussion, as long as it interests me and I have something to say in response to the discussion started. I mostly do not respond to discussions that I am not particularly interested in, even for the money, which probably explains why my daily earnings here in mylot are still pretty minimal. ugh..

Nope that is not what I meant. What i mean here is that as long as it is of a topic that I am interested in, it doesn't matter if the discussion was started by an old or new member. I have no biases about the thread starter, all that matter to me is the topic in discussion.

Hi dbutheking, welcome to mylot first of all. I haven't been here for too long, but there are many things that I've learned since I've been here. I started three discussions on my first day here. Two of those discussions still don't have any kind of response at all, the third discussion started getting responses right away.
I don't think it is truly all of an issue of whether or not you are a newbie, but you just have to get used to mylot and what kind of discussions work. That's all that there is to it.
Sit back, talk about what's on your mind. Some things will be very popular, others will be a strike out, but if you are having fun that is all that matters.

Hello Dbutheking!
Welcome to Mylot. When I response to a discussion, I never check on the member ranking, which means no matter newbie or oldies, I will still response on the discussion, but it must be a discussion that I have interest on it. There are so many members here, so you have plenty of chances to get your discussion response by others. Do take your time. And you can have few steps to work it out. Try to add some friends at Mylot. Whenever you post a new discussion, they will get notification and your discussions will show under '' discussions my friends start''. Add my interest that you like, member that share the same interest with you will have your discussions show at '' discussions from my interest''.
Lastly, who know if your discussion is interesting and hits today's top discussion, and you will be able to get lot of responses too.
Good luck and happy Mylotting!

Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwww dbu!
Your friend can be REALLY PROUD OF YOU!!
You have done a BRILLIANT job here buy commenting to all those who responded to you and your comments are so diversified too.
New users are a breath of fresh air to myLot and those who actully take time to learn even a little bit about how myLot works and to read the Guidelines are very, very rare! You seem to be an exception and I am pleased to have met you yesterday as soon as you joined. Oh that was also proof that to me the new users are just as important as the older ones here and I make no difference between them at all!
I am sure you ae going to have fun here and find your slot in the big myLot family. I shall look forward to reading your future topics and having more fun with you (just like we did on the other one ).
A huge warm welcome to you and many happy myLotting days!

We could certainly have a lot more fun discussions if they were like him!
He was lucky that he has a friend who joined before him and has explained a lot about what goes on. He has understood and put into practice all the things that he has learnt. Just look at the results.
He is on the Digest on his first day of joining!

Hello, and welcome to mylot!
I don't want to sound mean or anything, but when I say this I am not absolutely saying that NEWBIES do it, other people do to, but it tends to happen more to newbies, so that's why they feel like they are being targeted.
You need to be able to make interesting discussions, not simple things like, What are you eating for dinner or what is your cellphone, or, do you listen to the radio. That is just plain boring. You also need to be able to add detail in your discussions. Don't worry if you don't get much replies at first, maybe you should respond to some discussion first and then you would get the hang of what kind of things people like to discuss!
I wish you all the best in your journey to mylot. =)

Hi pweety_princess,
Yes, you are correct. I saw some profiles of the responders. The persons having more posts received more responses and having less posts received less responses. Also i can see the number of friends they have also proportional to their number of posts. So i will get more friends from more discussions.
Hope you accept my FR.
Thanks for welcoming me.
Have a successful day ahead...

I am not looking after the discussions starter at all when responding to the discussions. If the matter of discussion is well familiar to me, I will start responding to them. Also I am having the habit of responding to at least one discussion started by the new user for about three months so that they get some interest in the discussions.I have responded to the discussions of many new users even if the discussions are against the term of mylot without considering the fact that our response will be deleted along with the discussion, advising them to not to do so.In mylot, the money making interests used to have discussions with many responses. The reason may be the fact all are familiar with the money making sites and also they have much experience with such sites, easy to respond etc..

Hi kumar,
That's nice to see that you are not seeing the discussion starter and only the topic and description. Yes, i can see some money earning websites in the new user tab having more number of responses eventhough they are newbie.
Thanks for your comments.

Hi!
Welcome to Mylot. .. I answer discussions which interest me and it doesn't matter whether the one who started it is a newbie or not. It's the topic that counts most for me. .. . Anyway, if you receive only a few responses for your discussions, worry not because later you will get more of it as you gain more friends. Have a good day and enjoy mylotting.

Hi dorisday,
Yes you are correct. I guess i will receive more responses after getting more and more friends. I am trying it too. I give FR's to many of the responders in my discussions eventhough it have very less numbers. Also i am going to give it to all discussion starter whenever i attend theirs too.
Also, its nice to see that you don't discriminate discussions according to the number of posts by the discussion starters.
Thanks for your valuable comments.

Hi dbutheking!
It is not like that. why mylotter would not respond to newcomers discussion. This discussion have proved that they are not like whichever your consideration before. You discussion will attract if you words ,sentence are powerful and easy to understand. This is my thinking ;my initial discussion was not able to attract many responder because of interest area. My topic was not able to conver interest of common people.
So according to me always try to make your discussion interesting!! have a great day!!

Hello Db...and welcome to MyLot. Actually, I do seek out the discussion of new comers to mylot under the "new user" tab each day. I cannot respond to all, and some are spam, but I do respond to many. I think it is good to welcome and encourage new people here.
As for money, it is not of first importance to many of us. We would rather make and get to know new friends and learn from the discussions here.

Hi peacefulWmn,
I found that users having 0 r 1 posts are come under the new user tab. I had posted my discussion and see that my posts don't come under the new user tab. Yes, there are many spammers there in new user tab.
You better see the no responses tab. There are good discussions started by both the new comers and also the users having more number of posts.
Yes, everyone need some encouragement here and every where. Also we can make new friends from the discussions we started and also from the discussions responded.
Thanks for being here.
Have a great day.

Hello and welcome to Mylot. I think the main thing is to do what you have done here - come up with a catchy title which asks questions requiring more than a 'yes' or 'no' response. The mistake some new members make, in their enthusiasm to get on with Mylotting, is putting up too many simple discussions, such as 'do you drink coffee?' which are not discussions at all.
Most of us go for the topic rather than the member posting, so if you take the time to think up good topics which allow people to make decent responses, you will soon build up your response numbers.
To some people, money making is the most important thing. I never go to the money section, as a lot of the so-called discussions are just about links and referrals. Mylot is primarily about the discussions and friends - the small amount you earn is just a welcome bonus. As your friends list builds up, I'm sure you'll get more responses.

Yes, i am building my friends list by sending FR's to all my responses. Many of them accepted it. I just joined myLot about 10 or 12 hours ago but i got nearly 10 friends. Good isn't it? I also sent to you. Hope you too accept.
I will think about discussions and post some interesting discussions soon.

Hello debutheking, I am new here too. Just joined last night and this is my first discussion to respond to. I don't know why people would not respond to new posts by newbies. I wonder if it is simply because they are new. If there were one or more responses maybe there would be a better discussion.

I have only been a member for about 6 weeks now. I also had problems when I first started out. The more you discussions that you start the better the chances of them being viewed. I had started some articles and they still don't have any responses. I try to go to my friends started,no response, newbies and then to the today's discussions. I always look at my friends started to make comments first. Your friends list is the best place to start. They will be more apt to look at yours and make a comment. I wish you the best and don't give up.

Newbies always put quality, innovative and variety content. I also believe that most of my discussion at the earlier stages were great as I had fresh ideas.. Nowadays I've reduced the frequency of posting topics due to lack of gud ideas. Its basically becoz of going "unnoticed" newbies will not have any contacts (friends)so there is very less chance that the question will get attention (as it won't appear in anyones page as "discussions by your friends" likewise. Its unfortunate that many such great questions go unnoticed... Gud question!

Yes, i agree. Newbies don't have many friends and his discussions won't be appeared in the friends started page. So, every one has to make more friends while joining here in the myLot.
By this way only every one benefited here. So, i had sent request to many of the starters and responders of the discussions i had attended here all day.
