Yes I have the same problem. I'm either very tired and can't sleep because I can't shut my brain down or I'm just not tired. Its 2:15 my time and I'm still up on the computer. What I do when I can't sleep is read, watch a little TV or I pray to God to let me sleep. One of these usually work for me. Its the worst thing when you can't sleep and you have to get up early in the morning. Good luck to you.

Yes I know about that for me though I can't play games on the computer before I sleep but I can type and the tv doesn't really bother me in fact it does help me sleep at times especially if I have the lights out. I also know we shouldn't have a TV in our bedroom but I do. Take care and I wish you a good night sleep real soon.

Hi lelin, do you know it is advisable not to use computer and watch TV one hour before your sleep?
I'm doing a lot of research for myself about sleep, and doing my best to apply it in my daily life. It's so upset if i can't sleep at 3 am, and i have to wake up early the next morning :(
All the best.. for all of us. Cheers =)

Well I have a lot of the same problems, and it adds to the fact that I drink caffeine later in the day, I like to read later at night, and I am online at night, which makes me avoid going to bed. If you just went to lay down, made yourself very comfortable and totally cleared your mind (if you couldnt do that, just write things down, it helps), and just try to rest. Normally that helps! Thats what I have to do anyways.

It's not as late here but I am in the same boat. Both of my kids have fallen asleep early and I really should go to bed but I'm just not tired. My kids are going to be up earlier than normal since they fell asleep early so I really should get to bed.
I usually find reading a boring book or the newspaper makes me sleepy. Sometimes just getting into bed and turning off the light is enough to lull me into a sleep. Sometimes there is no help and I just can't seem to turn my brain off.
Have you tried exercising during the day? I find that I am pretty tired and fall asleep easily on the days I go for a run. Maybe that would help you. Good luck!

I used to have a difficult time sleeping and I found out that it was related to a thyroid disorder. My endocrinologist has helped me a lot ... that plus a change of lifestyle. I was told to exercise. I do it almost everyday and it has helped me. I've been sleeping better.

Hi chris, i have do some research before about sleeping because sometimes I have this kind of problem too. I am student and spent all day long in the school, so I didn't take naps. From what I read last time, we have to prepare our body before our sleeping time.
Finish your meal at least 3 hours before your sleep. When our body focused on digesting the food in the stomach, it will disturb our body and mind from rest, which is what sleep meant to be.
try not to take anything with caffeine (tea, coffee, coke) 6-8 hours before your bedtime. Caffeine can remain in our body on average three to five hours. But it may differ for other people.
do not exercise close to your bedtime. It will just make you more difficult to rest as your body temperature rises during the exercise.
If you still can't sleep, leave your bed room and get a book to read somewhere else. Do not force yourself to sleep on the bed. It will just getting harder.
Sleep and rest well, have a nice day =)
