Why are some people on mylot so mean...

hi chris620! sad to hear that. i am just new to mylot but have not encounter mean respondents. but i emphatize with you. we are here to make friends... money is a bonus and of course having fun sharing our views and feelings about anything of our interest. well, just don't take it personally and enjoy mylot-ting!

well i think that depends on how you will interpret the comments. we can't really tell everybody to what will they write or say here since we have the liberty to do and as long as we're not violating any rule here. some people really extend rude comments but if you will not mind then it won't hurt you, i suggest that you just ignore them. i also just befriend people that i like. you can always delete them in your friends' list.

Some people in mylot love to joke around, love to tease, have fun, make friends and there are also those that you say; perhaps there are. As long as you are having a great time, don't really take heed yeah.. there are just lots of great friends to make here and that is what makes it all worthwhile. Sometimes I might get discouraged because I feel so bored with the monotonous of answering and will get a breather from this site; but normally, that doesn't take more than 2 days. I come back fresh each time and ready to take on more discussions and make merry with others. I see myself as an individual trying to make someone's problem a little less burdened like when they tell something like problems, it makes the pain seem a bit lesser, even though it's not solved. So see yourself that way, yeah.. I've come across people whom have problems in lie and feel like giving up, but with support from other friends and I try my best too, the person got a better perspective. So think of yourself this way and as long as you are sincere, don't mind so much about the other negative things yeah. If it happens to me, I take it in my stride, and I'll try my best not to sweat the small stuff. Happy lotting to you..

you know I don't know why people do what they do. I know that the people on here I have generally found to be understanding and truthful for what they have told online. i know that I have had a couple of people just outright call me names on here and that's all they respond to in the discussion. They don't respond to the discussion or to my response. i have a problem with people like that too, because I am very sensitive from having trouble throughout school and highschool and you would think that as many online people that I'm in contact with that I wouldn't have that feeling but I do. I don't like people that make fun of others just to see what the other person would say if it was said and that is basically what they are doing. In my opinion.

M not really sure about what you say.however many discussions I've started myself,I haven't ever received any "mean" comments.On the contrary the people here in MyLot have been really nice n friendly.So I guess its how you interpret the comments.

I really don't understand people like that. It is one thing for people to have a difference of opinion and maybe go back and forth, but I hate to see people who are just flat out rude. Why even comment? Why try to aggravate people? Does it really make you feel good? Just another one of those things I don't get because I am SO not that way. People are the same way on YouTube. I can't stand it. Where is the love? LOL

Yes, there are some here that are mean but most are not. The mean ones just stand out and affect us more, I think. If someone is being seriously mean to you then you should rate them negative. If they are being abusive mean, you should report them. most of us are here to enjoy ourselves and get to know others. Don't give up here. Most people are really kind and as you get to know others, you'll find them quick to come to your defense and help you.

Some people may have had a bad life or are naturally mean and rude, that's how it is at a lot of paid forum sites or just regular forums, i've seen it elesewhere at forums where you don't get paid. Not everyone at these forums will be nice, i'm sorry if someone was mean to you.

I haven't really encountered that but then I suppose it depends on what you think is mean. Sometimes there are topics that frustrate me and my response might be a little angry and someone might think "mean". I also refuse to sugar coat things to make anyone feel better. I will say exactly what the person needs to be told. I have been called mean because of that before but I feel like not being straight up with them is hurting them.

To me it happens maybe you are talking about something in a discussion that someone feels really pasionate about. Or maybe they are just plain rude either way I try to take it with a grain of salt myself. I had this discussion awhile ago and I did get kinda of mean with the other person beacuse I thought their comment was really rude. Welcome to Mylot. I'm sure you'll find, as I did, that most of the members on here are here for the friendship and discussion. The thing with the internet is it provides a cloak of anonymity to people who don't have the guts to be mean to other people's faces, and there's nothing we can do about that, other than to ignore them and/or use the report button if we feel their response is offensive, whether it is directly aimed at us or not.

I guess it's because they have nothing nice to say or they are just mean by nature. We are obliged to freely express ourselves in a good way so maybe there are just ruining others lives because someone did it to them first. Some people however, just don't care about others feelings so they always speak what they think is right. These mean members are just insensitive person who can't look for any outlet to release their anger. Or maybe they are cowards because they know that online people won't fight them physically.

Im here because I like stating opinions in discussions and like to read and hear about different walks of life. So far, havent encountered a mean mylotter. Its sad. Some people are nice and others are mean... fo figure!. Im no one to judge but I certainly wouldnt like anyone passing judgement on me. Ive encountered a lot of people that are mean without any rightful justification, or for their own given reason, if you feel bad about it, just let them know, otherwise sometimes its not even worth thinking about meaners. Because they can be. Unfortunately mean people are everywhere...yep, even on mylot. It's best to just ignore them, though sometimes that is easier said than done. If you feel you need to respond to them be sure to do so in a polite manner. It might just throw them for a loop! LOL Happy mylotting!

I really don`t know why some people are mean, i guess it must be in their nature or they must be sadistic and enjoy hurting people. Personally i joined Mylot primarily to earn but as i settled down i found that i enjoyed making friends more than the money part. There are some friends who i feel i am very close though we have never met or exchanged email id`s.I think you and i could be good friends. I will send you a friend request. Will you accept me?

The only reason I think people are mean on mylot is because they are not happy people. There are people who are just plain negative and don't know how to be nice. Its just not in their nature. They have had a bad life and they take their anger out where ever they can regardless if it on Mylot or at the supermarket.

How sad to hear that you meet such read members, as far as i have knew, and correct me if I am wrong, the my lot admin terms and conditions do not allow such an abusive or any mean words. In my one months stay in this site i have not encounter any of it. Just remember the words of Eleonor Roosevelt which says that " no one can hurt you without your consent" ,so don't give them the pleasure. Have blissful day ahead...

I'm sorry you came across that...I've only been here for about a week and everyone seems very nice with one obvious exception in the politics section. I hope that most people are nice to you.
