Song lyrics that rhyme

Why is it that the majority of modern pop-songs contain lyrics that rhyme? I mean, creating a melody is hard enough, without making up a lot of lyrics that will be limited by your rhyming dictionary (:

hi boisson rhyming seems to go with melodies at times. I am thinking here that a rhyme in time saves nine, now' that does not make a lick of sense but it rhymes. he he. I really do not have a good answer for that as I am not'much up on modern pop songs. I love rock and jazz and classical music like Mozart, bach, beethoven also the rags by Joplin. also some of the modern pop songs to me do not make a lot of sense'either.

Lol Hatley. I seem to keep bumping into you! I don't think I have responded to any of your discussions as yet, but I seem to keep responding to many of the same ones! haha. This is fun. Now I'll have to see if I can find some of your discussions to respond to. You seem pretty cool!

I don't really know. I would think one of two things. Either they enjoy the challenge of rhyming and so they do their best to think of rhyming words or since a lot of people think of songs as musical poetry, and many poems rhyme, perhaps that's it. A musician is often similar to a poet. They express their feelings through words in a lyrical style.
