Does an eye-grabbing title on mylot want to make you respond to the discussion?

Hey Mylotterss!
How are we today?
I'm actually wondering something.
Does an eye grabbing title for a mylot discussion catch your discussion?
For me it kind of does. If a discussion is interesting, I won't click on it because the discussion name is boring, so you think the rest of the discussion is boring.
Do you only go for eye-grabbing discussions or do you not care?
Can't wait to hear your opinion!

Yes, the title is usually the clincher for me. If people don't put thought into the title. it signals to me that not much thought has gone into the topic itself. Posting on Mylot should be done with your potential audience in mind, not the possible rewards. It's very easy to pick out those who are here for the money from those who are here for the discussions. I think of my discussion title as the window dressing that will pull people in to have a closer look.

I agree with you.
Some people make lots and lots of discussions that are boring, all by the same person. They might ask something like what if your favourite vegetable, or, do you like reading? You can tell they are just trying to think of all the questions they can, hoping they will make lots of money cause they will receive responses!
How wrong are they!

It depends,
if its a discussion started by someone I don't know, then yes I only read it if its got an attention-grabbing title.
BUT
if its a discussion started by a friend, then the title doesn't usully persuade me much, cause I respond to discussions from them regardless, because I like to help them out with their earnings, and plus with some of my friends make silly discussions with boring-ish titles just to see how many responses they'll get lol

oh btw,.....
It also depends if the discussion is based on a subject (interest) that I feel I have something to add to or not. THere are some discussions (even from friends) that I have no knowledge about, so I don't respond

hi an eye catching title helps but the content has to appeal
tome or I just go on to something else that does appeal.so'i think title and contents are equally important to draw us in and'get us to respond as you want us to.

Yes ...the title is the first thing that attracts my attention towards the discussion...then I read the content and if I can add some good content I will do so...or if the discussion is of my interest i will comment on it...usually I go for the discussions that are started by my friends here...

I care for the title and my relatedness to the topic pweety. If it has an eye-grabbing title, then it's a plus!

Yes, that's the main reason i'd respond to a discussion, titles are important.

An eye grabbing title on mylot would interest me to read the discussion but if the idea or the content as a whole is not interesting I won't respond to it. These eyegrabbing titles at least made us curious to read their contents and drive us find discussions that interest us.

I read the title first and then if the content is interesting, then I will respond ot it, otherwise I won't. It has been really hard lately to find very interesting discussions to post to. I just post to ones that really interest me, and even if it is sometone that isn't on my friends list. However, I do respond to them as well. It just has to be interesting enough for me to want to post to it. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.
