On Conrado de Quiros' article "Walang Alam" (translated as "With No Experience")

In today's There's The Rub, Conrado de Quiros gave his arguments for having Noynoy to run for president. He said that Noynoy was a great alternative to the "other presidential candidates" because though he hadn't made startling contributions to the country (unlike his parents), Noynoy was an unblemished politician and places him way beyond the others. I'm not for or against his candidacy as of this point but I would just like to say that it's quite depressing to know that our choices for presidents nowadays is skewed towards those who "haven't done bad" and not to "those who have done the most good" just because the latter criteria is almost non-existent. A sad state for the country indeed.

It is also quite depressing to note that none of the Presidentiables are really great have potentials to run the country smoothly in terms of economy, peace and order and prosperity. It is doubtful if they have this good intention and right motive to lead the country. I don't like the tactics they are now using, so rubbish and tiring. Now we are once again invaded with lies and promises, I don't know anymore who are sincere and who are not. I think Noynoy has all what it takes to be a good leader, he has this integrity his parents instilled to him and the same devotion to democracy, humility and freedom. The problem is, it seems Noynoy is not really that super interested to run for President. Hope he will change his mind, someone like him is greatly needed at this point in time, someone who has strong conviction to Philippine democracy and someone who has a clean background from corruption. He has this solid foundation of being a good leader.
