AUSSIES are in a very good confidence that they can win their last test against but it became overconfidence and atlast it lead to the defeat of the test and the total ashes series to the england. iam very disappointed with the performance of the first innings of the australia. england played very well and clinched the series. what do you think friends?

I think aussies team is in rebuilding process also England team have better and more expreinced player than aussies, 2nd test had decided the series result, Aussies missed their chance in first test and slipped from the track, after saving the first test english gain a great confidence and that is key factor of the Aussies defeat

Well the Australia team as whole was loosing the class act,the 1st innings really made them loose their spirits later when Eng posted such a huge task of chasing about 550, this shattered their confidence level and increased their nervousness which brought to their fall and loosing the 2009 Ashes, better luck next time.

Australian experienced players like Ponting, Michael Clarke, Staurt Clarke, Mitchell Johnson, Haddin, Katich and Hussey inconsistent performance had made the Aussies lose the Ashes 2009. I do not agree with you that England played very well because Australia should have won the first test and the second test but it did not happen because Australia bowlers in ability bowl out the England tail end batsmen. In the whole series England middle order failed a lot but Aussies did not cash on that chances.. Anyhow, it was luck series win for England and I do not think England can defend this cup when they play again on Australia..

I think the aussies for years and years have been very cocky and over confident it was the same as in 2005 when england won the ashes aswell as 2009.
Look at the remarks made by ponting and some of the aussie team before the ashes started that it was going to be 3-0 to australia and the aura remarks.
Australia are a shadow of the team they once were when they used to rely on warne and mcgrath etc etc, now they are good bowlers but not to the level of warne and the older team. The only bowler that can be classed as exceptional was brett lee.
England were also experimenting during the ashes to a certain extent and we lost flintoff for a test and our best batsmen pietersen for almost the entire series.
I hope it brings the aussie's down a few notches as its ok being over confident but considering that england won ashes in 2005 I think it was abit arrogant of australia to be so over confident although its great hearing the aussies whinging instead of the aussies accusing us of being whinging poms.

I think the loss of ashes for the Aussies is expected. They have made many mistakes in the final test that made them pay dearly. They should have played the spinner hauritz.see Swann has taken 9 wkts in the final test. The runouts of ponting and clarke also had some impact.otherwise they would have got some chance.
But in general aussies really misses Mcgrath,Gillespie,Warne,Hayden and Gillie.
Those are the players that won australia many matches singlehandedly.
lack of experienced players and some petty mistakes in selecting the squad resulted in the loss of ashes.
