Today i got a mail saying i have won 1 million from Microsoft through their online contest. The sender wrote that they are the official advertisers for Microsoft. Now that i have heard of many online lottery scams & so on. So how can i ensure if it is genuine or not?

This seems to be a popular scam these days.
And under no circumstances do not give them anything - not even a reply or something. They can use everything against you. If they find out, that the e-mail they sent it to is actively used, they can put you on many mailing lists which will, eventually, flood your mailbox.
And other kinds of personal information might be used in different illegal way and in the end you will end up losing money or more.

So is there some way by which we can complain about these people? or is it possible to do something about it?

One word answer to this question- Scam . I sometimes get this kind of email dozens of times a week. All they are after is your personal information to rip you off. Just delete them.

I think the problem they have is that scams come from all over the world and are very difficult to stop happening. People need to be educated to spot the dangers- the only problem is that there is always one or two people falling for them.

My Opinion is that there should be some sort of Agencies or authorities online to track down these scammers. I believe there is no such site online as of now to report these type of mails.
