Alot of people are hearing conflicting advice on soy-based products. Some people say eating them helps ward off cancer. Other say it raises the risk. The actual truth is that scientist don't know if it will or not. While some studies done have found women with cancer had reported eating less soy than healthy women. Research scientist can promote cancer in animals by feeding them soy. The concern with soy protein is that it contains isoflavones. These organic compounds are similar to estrogen, which has been linked to increased cancer risk. Even if you have a family history of the disease, it's safe to include soy in limited amounts in a well baanced diet. Just avoid supplemental soy pills, which have high levels of isoflavones.

I live in Korea and soy is an integral part of the korean people's diet. I had to get used to having tofu for breakfast and drinking soy milk daily. Even in their stews you'll find an ounce of tofu. There are less cancer cases here in fact, korean food is considered one of the healthiest food in the world next to that of the japanese who eat almost everything raw.

oh gosh..soy based can raise the risk of cancer? he has been drinking daily ever since the chemo, should i ask him to stop now? sometimes even if we read a lot from the website, we still cannot be sure what to drink and what to eat for cancer patients. There are always positive and negative remarks to certain products. And it can only be ascertain if there are living testimonies from the patients themselves.
