What do you think about the time differences across the world?

I have to admit I forget about it when I am communicating with people, until they remind me its morning where they are, or night, I never think about this, I can't seem to wrap my brain around this its so crazy to me. To all my fellow mylotters what times it where you are? how do you feel about this topic in general?

Hi Kitt, the problem with asking this question is everyone responds to the time it is now and then tomorrow they will all be down as 'one day ago' and you won't actually know what time it is. I know what time it is with a few of my friends when it is noon here. Right now it is 7pm here so it's 11am over with Lamb on the West coast of your place, 2am with my friends in India, 5pm in the UK and and 1am in Malaysia. But I have no idea what time it is in the Bronz.

Hello tdemex O.k well that makes sense, I never think about that, when I say good morning I really mean good morning until someone says its nighttime where I am, I say to myself how is this possible, I just don't get this honestly.

It's normal most people don't travel, and most Americans think they live in the center of the universe! LOL! tdemex

Hi tdemex Hey now, be nice, I requested your friendship, I read some of your responses I like what you have to say, I think I can learn a lot from you, so if you don't mind please accept. I know I will never really get this time difference thing, would be nice to say goodmorning/goodnight without having to be told I made a mistake yet again.

Hello Kitty. I am far more aware of its existence since the internet, but I still do not know by how much the time differs from country to country. But...I know it can be by a LOT. It's hard to know if you should be telling someone to have a good day or to enjoy the night lol. Karen

It's amazing how things can be so different in many ways from accross the world. From cultures, to religions, the food, the songs, the clothes... more so..the time... it's funny to think how a lot of pople on the other side are soooooooooo busy working and driving and doing the stuff they do everyday.. while the rest are sleeping on the other half of the world. even there kitty... time is soooo different between east and West Coast... but things worked out for everybody right? i guess it is designed this way for a purpose... and might be what's best for us all...

it is kitty... but i don't try to understand the complexities anymore. i think of it in a way that it is designed to be llike that and there is a purpose, and it is what's best for everybody..otherwise,it won't be that way. maybe the Creator didn't mean for us all to sleep at the same time...lolz... he needs the rest to be awake to look after things...lolz

Because of the way mylot is laid out I actually keep forgetting about the time difference here. The fact that a lot of the members seem to be from parts of India and the East, instead of the US keeps confusing me as well since previous sites I was on were mostly populated by Americans so I learnt the time differences of American and the Netherlands, but not really anywhere else. But I have been an Internet user for a good while now (I started in 2002) and so I have a fair grasp of time zones, even if I do forget about them lol Oh and I am from the UK and it is 2104, though the way I feel right now makes it more like midnight lol! Hello my friend O.K so 21;04 is that 9;04? I use to use military time at work so I am somewhat use to that, unless the uk have a whole different way of saying the time I am totally lost lol I have been on the net myself for a number of years, never got into the different time zones, I have one person I speak to in california and she is behind me I think, don't get me to lying let me think, behind o.k I will go with that, if we don't talk I forget like now, I find this truly amazing how you could be there on one time, I am here on another time, shes over there on her time wow
26 Aug 09
Hey Kitty, You know, I always thought that military time was in the 24 hour clock, perhaps that is just the way us Brits do it lol 2104 is indeed 9:04PM, you are correct, though it is a touch later than that now and I have to say that I hate the fact that mylot doesn't show me your response when I am commenting. I have a naff memory! Oh well ~ Opens a new window to check what you said lol ~ Ahh yes, the best thing I think about the different time zones is the New Year. I know someone in the Netherlands and either last year or the year before we celebrated each other's New year, with hers being an hour before mine. I found that amazing fun, though it is strange to imagine one part of the world being in one year, and the rest in another lol! It was definitely fun to have an excuse to celebrate it twice though :) What time is it where you are at the moment then? Are you in the part of the US that was 5 hours behind my time? Dranz PS: I have to leave now to get some sleep, but it has been fantastic doing this today :)

Hi my friend!! Well it says you wrote this three hours ago, so where I am it was 4:33 p.m. I'm in the same boat with you. I never think about time zones when I'm calling places. lol. My boss told me once to call a client (who lived in Hawaii) and at that time I think it was afternoon for me, I called and was very nice, told her who I was, and why I was calling, and she was so upset with me. She said I live in Hawaii and it's 2:00 a.m., here!! Can you call back later! lol...at least my boss told me to and I didn't call and get in trouble...

Hi kitty Hmm well sometimes i do feel strange about it, though now i have got used to it, especially here at mylot, i open up discussions and some of my friends like you reply at the time i am most probably sleeping...hehe... so i have to check those things out, it rarely does happen that both are online, mostly either when i am waking up too late or doing mylot at the noon... it sure is funny though, we can't do anything about it...hehe... . . . have a nice day kitty, wondering what time is it over there!

Hello my wonderful friend Its always nice reading a response from you Mylot has made me more aware of this time difference, I know there is nothing we can do about it I would like to know a little more about it, like what time it is here and there and really know, I never think about this which is sad, I do now, and always will lol some people are actually good at things like this, not me I was on my way out when I got this response from you it was 2pm, what time did you respond do you remember? that would give me an idea of our difference, anyway my friend thanks for the response always a pleasure hearing from you.
