I like to live again in the medieval ages..where you don't use electricity at all. we have castles, with strong walls manually opened gates..with catapults and big arrows as defense..not to mention cannons too. I don't want TV or radio nor bulb light. just a suburb home, a torch, a bed and some wooden walls to cover me. eat some vegetables and fruits only, and have a livestock of all kinds of animals. well, because i don't how to cook with out oil and cook book. then my first job will be a Knight for the King, defend the Castle, fight bad guys, then eat, rest and have a lady on your lap..then starts exploring the world filled with trees, plants and birds... SO, any body wants to go with me? *looking for the Time Machine Remote* have a great day every one........

I would love to....... I would love to share some facts with all of you..my friends....But could we ever go back in time??? Time machines are commonly seen in science fiction films & books, but no one knows how to build one. However its possible to slow down time by traveling very fast relative to someone who is stationary. This was predicted by Einstein's theory of relativity at the beginning of the 20th century & since been proved many times. One of the best examples of this demonstrated by putting a very accurate clock on board passenger jet. Another identical clock was kept on the ground & synchronised compared & the one that had been on the plane was running behind the clock that had stayed on the ground. The difference between the two clocks was exactly the difference predicted by the theory of relativity. It is important to understand that this slowing down of time depends on the speed you are traveling at relative to someone else. None of the passengers on the plane would have noticed anything strange - as far as they are concerned time is passing as usual. It is only stationary relative to them that they notice a difference. If you could travel at speeds close to the speed of light (about 186,000 miles a second) time would slow down significantly, from the perspective of someone who is not moving. Unfortunately we do not know how to build rockets that fast !!! I hope you guys would love hear these facts......:)

Was there a Movie supporting this kind of theory. there was this movie about the father's dad invented some sort of time accelerating device...but put in the watch so that it would be handy. i remember the story but i forgot the title of the story. it was good, but trouble there is that you might get older than the others

The movie would be "Back to the future" Anyways talking of Physics, Arnab, I any thing were to reach the speed of light, the would not its mass go up to infinity?

Hey webearn99......quite interesting name...well, if it is possible to travel faster than the speed of light, would time reverse itself (like backwards time travel) or just not exist?when you assume that it's possible to travel faster than the speed of light, you'r taking the law of physics & punching them in the stomach & throwing them down the stairs. The problem is that you can't say, Hey, what would happen if you go faster than the light? because that's totally physically impossible. It's not possible to go faster then the speed of light, so the laws of physics can't possibly say what would happen if you imagine things that the way in some hypothetical universe. Physics is a complete package: once you decide to ignore one physical law, you'r ignoring them all.

Hey Letran! I think that I'll pass on this trip! I don't think I would like living way back then! I am way too lazy for that life! I like my light bulbs and other materialistic stuff! I don't feel like giving up my tv, stove, computer or anything else! I can cook just fine! And don't forget the microwave! I think you're going to be really lonely on this trip! You might want to think about cancelling!

I don't want to take this trip too. I hate the outdoors life, and going back in time means exactly this kind of life. I love technology and the comforts of a modern home. I can't cook, so I just buy food. If I go back in time, I don't think I'll be able to just buy cooked food.

I think I can't really live in the middle ages. It may sound very simple to live at those times rather than the modern times now which is also complex. The medieval ages were the times when there were a lot of wars and colonization so there were no peace at all. Its like everybody is running around especially when their humble abode is being burned by other colonies attacking their villages. The medicine is not yet being discovered so its either most people die of sickness and injured soldiers die at the battle field. There were no hospitals yet. Giving birth at those times are also hard as the ceasarian procedure for breech babies were only discovered in the 1800s. There was no such freedom at that time. I think I am fortunate to live at the modern times now when everybody is free and where there is peace and order.

If time travel is possible I would rather be a time traveller....lol...I want to venture everyday looking for fun.I wouldn't want to leave anywhere as there are always danger here and there. How fun it is to be in our dream world. As to your question, I would like to go to the future and that is not going back in time but going to the future..Ahemm...I guess I prefer the future :S

i believe the only problem with time travel is that you don't intervene with the events if you're gonna go back in time so that you wouldn't be in so much trouble changing or alternating the time line. like that movie scene from Red alert III, one of the Generals had touch Einstein before they went back. when they did, everything changes...

I love the olden times; it would be great to get back to an era whereby there are castles, Knights, princesses, kingdoms, but if possible I wouldn't want the bad, evil people. Just the good ones will do..

You are right. If no evil, then it's called heaven..

well, going back in time, that doesn't mean you can't just vanished them. otherwise, you wouldn't realize what's good an evil, right? i like the castles and knights. most specially when the kings are crowned.

From the very moment I saw the read the post I knew you were not an Indian. Well I am an Indian and am already where you want to go! Thank you for the invite. As it is Indian residing in suburbs or rural areas, we have up to 12 hours of power outage, so your first condition is fulfilled! It's torches and lanterns for us. I am a vegetarian, so vegetables are my only diet. Cooked I assure you if you can accommodate that with a large heart. I am too puny to be a knight so please adjust! However, I do fight against the bad guys like prices and mosquitoes. Of course like any other Indian I also like eating and resting. Want to join the vast Indian population?

Yes, there are some things that sound good about going back in time. I like the idea of fresh foods grown in large gardens and raising your own livestock. I would have a horse then for sure! LOL I am weak though and would have a very hard time living without medicine and air conditioning and iced tea so I must stay here.
• Philippines

yeah, growing your own fresh fruits and vegetables, that would save you a lot from buying in the market. or even make your own fish pod for your fishes. and riding a horse while going to other places is fun too. inspite of that you still prefer the modern world?that's ok. i guess today is better than yesterday

I've always loved the time period where the castles were around and whatnot. I personally loved Henry VIII time period, I've been obesessed with that time period for a long time. I just find that time period fascinating. I have so many books and whatnot that depict everything. I plan on going to England eventually to see the castles and learn about all the history. If I had the money to I would love to get married at Hever Castle (where Ann Boleyn was born)...but that would be expensive flying everyone out to England from the US for a wedding.

It's very expensive to get married in a castle especially since we would have to fly to England to get to one!!! HAHA. We don't have a house so we can't redo it. There's this really nice place near where I grew up that is an estate that has turned into a hotel with beautiful gardens...so we'll probably get married there...but if I was a millionaire I wouldn't hesitate to go to England to get married lol.

wow, you do wanna reminiscence the past, eh. hey, isn't that expensive to get married to a castle. better yet why don't you try to rebuild your house into a mini castle type home

that ain't fair? doesn't it? that would completely ruin my day for going back in time. i would surely lead a mutiny and leave your kingdom defenseless.and imagine, you being the Queen Elizabeth type, man if i remember she's as strict as a rock

I want to be in the era where Queen Elizabeth ruled England. It's a woman power over men who were kings. She was honored for being brave and devoted to her fellow English people. I could have witnessed her decisions and actions against Spain during her reign. I just watched the movie Elizabeth by the way. She was an amenable Queen!

She's probably the best Queen of England. I am glad she had that experience, otherwise she wouldn't be the Queen that she is in history..with her, they won't be a Golden age in England, thus it will be chaotic as well.

i like ur thought but again when i think about it without the latest gadgets i would b feeling very booring inspite of the cool jungle life with lots n lots of adventure in day to day life. so in my view if at all there is any time machine then i would love to go in past and live there for about one or tow weeks and enjoy and then return back to real world. so i hope buddy some one invents the time machine and give its remote to me
• Philippines
26 Aug 09
thanks. maybe, i don't have the latest gadgets but i got some latest info from the future, simply using the existing materials and make an advance things based on old stuff. well, for me i hope i could invent time machine, but not only to visit the medieval ages but also to save lifes.

hehe that sounds sweet, to re-discover to make fire(without matches), travel as far as we can to live ina small village where you are well known as the hero and the leader, sure i'll go with you but i get my own village.
• Philippines
26 Aug 09
well, there's already fire already. you get your own village, that's fine as long as were allies and not as enemies, that would really cause trouble for the people in that kind of age.

i would like to go back to the beginning of the 20th century. i think amazing things happened during the first 20 years of that century such as flight, road travel and a number of other things. although work was hard, it was a much simpiler time.

How about medieval Japan, being a samurai ? I would want it too and I also use to play - time to time - some age of empires, just to dream ... :-) I'm very happy I find out I'm not the only one thinking that middle age escape, at least for few weeks, would be something usefull and enjoyable. We may also learn, this way, to sho more respect to enviorment and people around ...

I agree with you, wow medieval japan, talk about slashers and bushido killers and armies with swords. i also play age of empires but only the first edition. it was quite good and very educational. trouble is when ever i get pissed i would use cheat and allow a car to do my work

Ahhh..what a wistful notion, but I'm gonna have to pass.. The wafting aroma of raw sewage in the streets, fun chemistry experiments in the water supply, dysintary on a regular basis..Can you imagine being in a full set of armor and ya gotta go reeeaaal bad?..Farming without mechanized aids, no medicine, no refrigeration, no climate controlled housing, no air-conditioning/heat in your ox cart..Do you realize that toilet paper wasn't invented/used by white folk until the Victorian Era (mid 1800's)?, attention ladies! Corsets!, gangrene, lukewarm baths, no perfumes, no deoderant, lye soap and tallow candles (which stink when they burn)..need I go on?! I can be wistful but you can go on ahead and enjoy yourself..

Without TV perhaps we can be more clever, ha ha... Yea, i love that idea, back to the ancient time where all were still black and white, but without black 'n white TV, ok. I will have pigs, because i liked to eat pig, ha ha... Ow, i don't cannon. Because i am a lady, i don't like the idea of strifle and lady on my lap. I'll be a princess, sit on my throne watching a moving TV who are the living clowns and some people from drama theatre who performed their drama script.

you mean puppets and theaters, right? that's good. well, maybe for you will have men falling in line to serenade, court you and serve you until you made teh decision..to send them home. i like being clever, going back in time knowing what you know then..
