Do you tackle "one word" tasks?

I've noticed a lot of MyLot writing tasks just lately, where the topic is a single word or phrase (latest are "remodelling" and "top books.") There are no keywords which means we have a big empty canvas to write upon.
I must admit, I've been avoiding these! I like to have keywords so i know what direction I'm supposed to be heading in. It doesn't help that MyLot use the same template for all their tasks. ("Your content will be used in a site about Remodelling, so please don't ...")
Top books is easy enough, but remodelling ... remodelling what?! Google Remodelling, and you get home decor for the first 3 pages, so I guess that's what I'll ... damn. too late, someone else has taken it.
Do you tackle these one word tasks? How do you approach them?

Hello jazzsue58.
What an interesting discussion! first of let me tell you I have never looked what the tasks link of mylot, so I am totally new to it. If you can explain me the basic idea of what is to be done, then may be I can try my hand at some of them, before I can give you a proper feedback on your question.
Waiting for a reply eagerly.

That was a nice explanation. As you said I checked out the tasks page and it really looks like fun. As for the money part is concerned, when I finish the task and they accept it and pay me, that money goes into my mylot account and gets added up to money i earn from posting in the discussions. That is one question I would like answered. Another is how much time do you expect to finish these Sharon bucks one word tasks? If the topic is totally new and unknown, can it be still completed in an hour or so. That too I will like answered.

As I was tired of doing the tasks and getting approval for them, I am not doing them at all now.Once I used to some tasks with interest, day and night,But all of my hard work went useless as the task creator banned me without any proper reason.Because of this I used to think of quitting mylot. But then I convinced myself and I am active only in the discussions and responses. No more tasks now. This is the case for most of the members and we able to see it from many discussions. That's why most of the tasks are now available for the long time, without having members to do them.If we spend the time in the discussions, we can earn at least few cents without fail. Why should we waste time for useless things?

I haven't got time to spend all day typing up discussions for a few pennies - I don't know how those writers with hundreds of replies manage it. I'm happy with a balance of the two things - a bit of time on tasks, a bit on mylot.
When my "real" work takes over, I just do discussions. Tasks are mainly a way of me keeping my hand in when times are slack.
