As some of you may know, Arthur was very very sick. We had been giving him subqs and syringe feedings all weekend. Monday morning he had a seizure and passed away. We are very very sad.
We waiting in our vet's parking lot for 45 minutes until they opened. They were very sad, too. We were told that his liver just gave out. Losing a beloved pet is a heart crushing experience. It's not a new one, but each time is like a first, totally devastating.

please accept my most sincere sympathetic thoughts. Like you , i am a cat owner. i have owned many cats during my 40 years of marriage and each of them is precious and it still hurts when they have to go to that rainbow bridge and cross over to that big cattery in the sky. As you say , its not a new experience , but still hurts every single time. You did your best in caring for your beloved cat in his final days. and i am sure he was aware you loved and cared for him. big hugs from me to you xx

I am so sorry to hear that. It is never easy to lose a pet. We lost our beloved hamster about a month ago. We got so attached to him. We have lost other pets too and it is never easy to go through. Our dog is old too and could pass at any time. I am dreading it too.

[b]My condolences, mcat. I really feel for you. I know it's cliche to say Arthur's in a better place & out of pain, now, but it's still true. It will get better, just give it time.
I'm going to go hug my kitty, right now.

Hi mcat,
Sending you lots of sympathy for the loss of your Cat Arthur. Losing a cat can be a very distressing experience or any other kind of pet for that matter. Loss of a pet takes time a lot of time to get over.

I'm so sorry to hear about Arthur. A beloved pet is like a child, at least for me. At least you know that he's not in pain any more. If the Rainbow Bridge is a comfort then great, my faith says that animals have animal souls and they never fell, so they go straight to heaven. Now, they don't pass Go and pick up the halo, but they don't have to worry about not making it either.

Aww--mcat19 I'm so sorry to hear about Arthur...at least he's no longer in pain and now frolicking and playing with my own furbabies that have passed on to Rainbow Bridge. From what you mentioned before you were doing everything possible to help him...I've done that myself in the past and unfortunately things didn't work out either and a furbaby would pass on
And yes, I've had cats since I was five...it's never easy to lose a "baby"

sorry to hear of your furry-baby's passing. make sure you stop at rainbowsbridge.com you can set a page up for him so you can visit him and give him updates of your life. my beau's cat passed last year and we had a memorial service for him on that. it was very touching and many tears were shed. you can talk to other furrybabies' parents and can get comfort.

So very sorry to hear about Arthur's passing. Least now he's no longer suffering and is playing again over at Rainbow Bridge, waiting to be reunited with you again. I'm sure Lightning is giving him a lashing for whatever reason he sees fit, which could be nothing since he never was predictable cept for being mean to anyone.

I am so sorry for your loss! It isn't like loosing an animal, it is losing a member of the family who has gained the recognition of being a fellow human. No matter what member it is, the hurt and pain is always more painful because it's a beloved individual that has shown a special personality and a special form of love for the family.
I recently lost Groucho, there was nothing that could be done and he is now laying in rest beneath the Mullberry tree in my front yard. (He was an orange and white cat with an orange mustache) A few days later Harpo, his litter mate and constant companion passed away out of loneliness. I cried like a baby because Groucho passed the day before I went in for knee replacement surgery and Harpo passed when I got home four days later. Harpo is beside his brother under the mullberry tree.
While there will be others that enter our lives, they never will replace the love or memories that the ones who passed have blessed us with. Arthur, like Groucho and Harpo, will always be at our sides because we remember them with enormous love.
I send you condolences, love and hugs- as well as my herd (four cats and four dogs) send their condolences and hugs and kisses to maybe make the pain a little less. I personally wish I could be there to hug you in person and try to ease the pain a bit...
