How do you go about meeting people?

I feel pretty good about myself.But this is a big world and it is easy to get lost in the crowd.So you see for me meeting people is something which requires effort.Doesn't matter how good i look,passively waiting for others to throw themselves your way doesn't work. But all that is past, i have implemented few basic principle of life. - Best way to meet people is to put yourself in places where there is likely to be other people who share your interest and values. - Once you are with people initiate conversation by asking questions,commenting on the situation, asking or offering an opinion, expressing some interest, showing some concern. - After you have engaged someone in conversation, let him or her know you're listening and interested. Make eye contact, adopt an open posture, reflect the feelings you hear, paraphrase what he or she says. - And again remember no risk no gains. Don't be discouraged if you and other person don't click first and every time. Hope this will benefit someone. Please share if you have better suggestions .....
