Is there a letter you would like to send to someone but for some reason you can't? Is something you really want to tell someone but they will never get to know? Perhaps an ex you want to let know how you feel, someone who has passed away or a friend who you have lost contact with?
Here is mine. There is many people I would like to write one to but this is for my friend Adam.
Dear Adam,
I got your message earlier today. I still can't believe I am going to be without you for the next two years. I know we always said since the beginning we were going to find somewhere else, but I never thought it would happen.
We have had some great times over the past year and I was really looking forward to you being there for the rest of our three years. Ever since we first bonded on the train to London, you have looked out for me like I always wished a friend would do. You tell me when the tutors say something important and I'm away and stick up for me when our classmates talk behind my back. It was always us looking out for each other. When the tutors criticise our work we always speak to each other and talk it through. You text me even when you're across the studio and we make each other laugh when we can hear each other phones going off. I love our trips to the library we had when we decided we'd had enough of the others in our class and how you always understood when I didn't feel like coming in. It was like us against the rest of our class and now I am fighting it for us alone. I will miss your great sense of humour and the jokes we had together. I will miss your breezy chilled out attitude to everything that kept us going.
I am so pleased that you have found what you want to do this summer. You talked to me a lot last year about moving out of home and now you are moving into your mates flat in London, that will be really good for you. You will have the nightlife you didn't have here and always wanted. Plus the new university you have found sounds so much better than the one we were at last year. We always knew we were able of achieving so much higher than our local university and now you get to have the education you have earned. I hope you can find a job and things work out for you. Everyday when I sign in it's going to be so weird not seeing your name there on the registar. Remember how we would sign in, talk to John and then leave?! Lol, I am going to keep doing all of our stupid things we do. The tutors will probably think without you I will become a different person, more like everyone else, but little do they know that we were both that way right from the beginning, even before we met.
I hope one day we will run into each other again and if we keep at our courses will be graduating at the same time. You will definatly have to come to the degree show back here in 2011 and we can have a laugh like the old times.
Much love from your fellow library lover x x x

No, Adam is just a friend not my boyfriend. I decided to share this on MyLot to encourage others to do so aswell, it could be an interesting discussion. I know my friend will not read this letter that's why I have posted it here! I would like to be able to say these things to him but I can't. I do often post to a blog on a seperate website.

Thanks for the opportunity to share something like this...
My dearest aunt colleen:
As i am writting this, i am sitting here in deep sadness, as i just found out form my mother that the doctors have given you litterally days or less before your body gives out and you will no longer be with us here on earth. It is really unfair that someone as wonderful as you has had to go through so much phyical pain and suffering. Multiple sclerosis is such a terrible and horrible disease, and many people don't even know how much suffering is involved. Knowing the pain you are going through causes me so much pain in my heart, second only to the pain i would be feeling if it were my mother, who also unfortunately is afflicted with the same disease.
I so very much wish i could call you, and tell you how much you mean to me, and how much you will be missed and never forgotten in my life, but unfortunately the infections that are coursing through your body have made you all but incoherant. My mother was so elated the other day when she was ble to get you on the phone, and you recognized her name and who she was, even though it was only for a moment or two, before you relapsed back into the darkness of these infections.
Even after you are gone, i just want you to know that i will never forget all the wonderful times we spent together. Getting to spend time with you was always the highlight to this little girl whenever my family traveled to iowa to visit with the family. I still have pictures and will never forget how you would let me play with all the makeup in the kit you carried in your purse all the time. You would not only let me put make-up on myself...but you would let me "touch-up" yours as well..then we would sit and play cards, either old maid, or go fish, with bright blue eyeshadow caked on up to our eyebrows and huge, bright red streaks of rouge and blood red lipstick on...and never once did you seem embarassed for others to see you that way with me.
I also have fond memories of going to the park in town, the one with the pond? We would stop at the store and pick up a loaf of bread, and sit next to the little pond, feeding the ducks and geese, and laughing at how silly they were. I remember going to the movies with you, seeing E.T. on the big screen was amazing! And i remember you buying me my first diary...with out that i may never have gotten into writing and poetry the way i have, and it brings me such enjoyment now.
I want to apologize for "falling off the face of the earth" over the past decade or so. I know tht after i moved to maine, half the country away formthe rest of my family, i kind of lost touch with everyone. I will admit, it was selfish of me. I never really stopped to think about how much my loved ones would miss me, and how much they just wanted to hear from me and know that i was okay. I was too wrapped up in my own life, becoming my own person, and it seemed that forgetting and leaving behind all parts of my past was the easiest way to accomplish this. I ralize now this was a huge mistake. I missed out on getting to spend time with grandma during her last years, and now i have missed out on your final moments too.
I wish i could go back and change this, but infortunately i cannot. I just hope you know, somewhere deep down inside, that even though i lost touch with you i still love you and think about you often, and will miss you dearly.
Love always and forever
Your niece
Elizbeth

Thanks for sharing with us That must have been really hard for you to write all of that, but I hope you feel you have helped get things off your mind slightly. My prayers are with you and your aunt these next few days. I don't know anyone with MS but I suffer from ME which has very similar symptoms so I know some of the pain you are going through. I am sure your aunt has all these dear memories too and knows you will always love her. I am sure she is very grateful to have had a niece like you to look after and bond with.

Hi pinklemonade, well i have to say this is certainly one of the best discussions some one has ever put on this site, atleast for me, your letter is so sweet, I wish you would meet your dear friend Adam someday:)
Well this is a letter to my first crush, her name is Vrinda and i don't know where she is now... well i am writing my feelings for her back when i had a crush on her and could not do anything for that, this is the story 6 years ago and we were in our high school.

Hi Vrinda, i am writing this to you now after nearly 6 years, i don't know where you are now or what you are doing, but i have something to tell you after all these years... i don't know if you ever felt that i liked you back then, but i don't have any of those feelings now, i sometimes regret that i never did anything to know you better, i always wanted to know more about you, your beautiful smile that made my day, when i didn't pay attention to my teacher i used to wonder about you so much, i always imagined you with that sweet bright smile, the smile if you had given towards me i would have felt so wonderful, i noticed you got along well with people but that is not something i am good at, i hesitate meeting new people, i am just so shy and especially with the girls... and it would certainly have been much harder for me to approach you...
You might not have noticed but i always liked to see your face when you were smiling, your smile was the biggest attraction for me those days... to be honest to you i have to say that many of the boys were crazy about you and i think you know that, but i never showed it out, i was just so shy about it, some of my friends would openly discuss about you but i never took part in those discussions, i kept it all to myself and not even my closest of friends, i think i should have approached you back then, coz i knew you were always open to talk with boys but you know i couldn't, sometimes in the past i often felt how nice it would have been i were more open with people but i don't have those thoughts anymore, i have learned to accept myself and that is the way i am and how God has made me, i have a lot of friends now, but few are really close to me, i share a lot of things with my close pals, but telling that i really liked you was also difficult for me to say.
I can picture you right now the way you were back then, the short hair and the cute smile, i wonder if you have changed, i wonder if you have longer hair now but i can say you will definitely look good whether it be long or short hair, i even think you have got a nice boyfriend now, i would be so glad to see you happy with life... i am no longer having those feelings i once had for you, but i know we can be great friends if we meet somewhere, that is if you will recognize me, i have grown thinner and look quiet different these days, i know was a bit chubbier back then but recently i have grown a bit more handsome...heheh... don't worry i am not praising myself here or anything like that, i am just giving the description of how i am right now and i assume you are looking prettier now and no doubt there must be so many guys out there who would like to meet you...heheh... well dear Vrinda i missed you after the school and i have been over it and i am pretty cool with it, how nice if somewhere we could meet and remember those wonderful days we had in the class 6 years back, oh i know you miss those days too don't you, well i missed you that time...
Well something i would also like to tell you about, you remember our funny little incident don't you, when i accidentally crashed into you near that corridor, i know you wouldn't forget that so easily ... hehe... i blushed really bad that time you know, my face was all red and hot after that incident, somehow i could say sorry otherwise my mouth wouldn't even have opened up to say anything, i have to say sometimes you even turned your head all the way back from the first row you used to sit in and stare at me with your wonderful eyes, i could never meet your eyes, i felt they were so powerful i could never meet them, i really wonder why you did that and still i do wonder, people would say to me "you are so nuts she was giving you the signal", was that the case with you? i don't know if it had been that way but anyways i wouldn't have been able to approach you, or maybe it's just the thing that sometimes girls really wonder about the silent ones in the class, you know i was, maybe you wondered what was on my mind and if you could read my thoughts you would have known that i liked you, or maybe you would have known that i wanted you to approach me rather than me towards you...
.
.
.
anyways that was quiet long ago, now we live so different lives, i don't even know where you are but you might know where i am coz the news has spread that i am in one of the premier institutes, anyways i am not boasting here, lets get along with our lives and it would be certainly sweet to meet you somewhere and somehow, take care Vrinda and all my best wishes for you!

I really hope one day you meet your friend Vrinda again. I have a feeling that one day you will see her somewhere and you will still be able to recognise her from her smile and her eyes and she will remember you too. I think she might have felt the same way as you did, it is so hard being the silent one in the school. I hope that she is still thinking about you now and she will come for you... but if she doesn't I know there will be another girl who is like Vrinda to you and you will be able to find the words to speak to her with. That is what happened to me.. I was too shy to talk to all the boys I liked in high school but when I met my boyfriend I was just able to speak as I was worried I would never meet him again.
Thanks for sharing this with us Voldrox!
