Are there still Aspies on mylot?

I just joined mylot within the last week, perhaps even on the week now actually, and when I saw that there was an Aspergers section I was quite excited really. I have the condition and have been diagnosed for about 2 years now I think (I would have to find the official report to be sure), and the idea of connecting with other people who have the condition, and finding out how our experiences of it differ, and are the same sort of excites me. So I just wanted to check - before adding too many discussions in this area - whether or not there are other Aspies here, and whether you be willing to talk about your experiences so we can perhaps learn from each other (or just me from you depending on how it works lol)?
Many thanks for any responses, and happy mylotting :)

PS: Apologies for the title, it was the first thing that came to mind lol

Hi -
I saw your other discussion on depression but I didn't respond since I don't have a formal diagnosis. Anyway, I don't have a formal diagnosis for Aspergers either, but I'm pretty convinced I have moderate Aspergers.
No diagnosis, can you tell I'm a do it yourselfer? lol
If you want to add me as a friend and PM me about it, you are welcome to.

Very pleased to meet you :)
I didn't even know what Aspergers was until it was suggested by my counsellor. I thought I was depressed or had a personality disorder and was being screened for those, but all that got sidetracked and I ended up with Aspergers instead lol! I still think that there are other things around, but I am not sure I want to get screened for those now, not after they were missed the first time! Have you ever thought about being screened for either depression or Aspergers so you can get support for them?

As for depression, I am being treated by a naturopath and I feel just fine. As for Asperger's, I am still thinking about whether there is any benefit to getting a formal diagnosis. At my age, my brain is wired the way it's wired I figure. Although I've done some reading about it and developed a few coping mechanisms.

This might sound really stupid but...what is a naturopath? I haven't come across that word before.
Do you ever wish you had a diagnosis from when you were younger?
When I got mine I still found myself wishing I had it before I was in school, and especially before university. I tend to think it could have made things so much easier, do you ever get that feeling?
PS: Sorry about all the questions, I am an insanely curious person ~ Blush ~

I'm another Mylot aspie. I'm interested in general discussions about it, but I don't talk about my personal stuff on a site like this. I prefer someplace that's more private. It's also hard to find a specific discussion on Mylot once it gets to be a few days old. After that, you have to do a search for the topic and be willing to wade through a lot of discussions to find what you're looking for. I recently joined an aspie group on ning.com, that I like much better. It's kind of slow over there because the person who started it hasn't been around for a long time, but we're trying to find out if we can get the ownership transferred and get things moving more actively. What I like about Ning is that you can have discussions, plus your own blog. You can set up a nice profile, and have a friends list. If you're interested in taking a look, it's at http://aspiesocial.ning.com
I'm not trying to take anyone away from Mylot, but Ning works much better as a real social group where you can exchange ideas and experiences.

If you do decide to join Aspiesocial, I'm Catana/Sylvie Mac. I combined my two main online names so that people who know me from different places will know who I am. Mylot is the only place that I'm UnusualSuspect. I used to use that name a lot, but finally decided to give it up. I don't think we can change our user names here, or I'd get rid of it completely.

Many thanks for the website suggestion, if the signing up form is anything to go by I could really grow to enjoy it there, though I will probably still use mylot a little more since I just joined here as well (and can make money lol). I understand about the personal stuff though, I was on another site where that was a big reason people never responded to my questions, I tend to like the personal stuff lol!
Pleased to meet you anyway :)
