Hi friends,
I have always wondered, when is breastfeeding gone on too long? I did try and breastfeed with my first child. I didn't do well with it. That is not to say that I don't think it is the most natural thing in the world and so very good for your newborn.
But I have recently read something about an actress from a long time ago breastfeeding her child until the child was 4 years old. I think this is absolutely obscene. When do you think the weening process should begin? Just wondering.

As a father of two children I can say until the first bite. I have seen the agony my wife went through. A child care specialist should be able to advice you properly. Here in India the initiation to solid food starts about the teething time with cereal smoothies, liquid enough to be fed from a bottle and gradually to spoon feeding by eighteenth month.
