Which is better in donwnloading?

There are many other ways of downloading stuff from the internet. Few of them are; Torrent - using utorrent or bittorrent, direct downloading - using internet download manager and direct download links, grabbing - downloading streaming videos and complete websites. I recommend using utorrent instead of bittorrent and Internet Download Mangager for you direct downloads.

I would prefer Internet Download Manager as I have a wireless Internet connection.But this down loader works best with normal Broad Bands and internet connection.Most of my friends use this an have got good download speeds too,the maximum that they can get for a long period of time,doesn't break downloads ion between.There are options of resume too that too works very well.

Have you heard about flashget?It is said it downloads things very fast on the internet,but I am using xunlei.It is very popular in China.I would like to use Huntmine very much.it downloads fastest among these softwares.

Hii Iam using Internet Download Manager(IDM) and so far it has been wonderful for me.It increases the download speed nearly 5 times and the download is very fast. If u don't have many applications running then you can have 200kb/s download transfer.I don't know how much bittorrent has.anyway download speed also depends on your connection but i reccommend IDM

if you want a download manager for regular download then internet download manger is the best software. as for torrents i would prefer utorrent for downloading torrents..

Torrent are really slow in downloading stuff compared to direct download. You'll find practically not a conclusive speed difference as with other torrent clients. Though internet speed and machine do help in a way to speed things up, its the source that most of the time that drag us down. Some seeder are limiting their upload after reaching a certain share ratio, some allot more bandwidth to downloading than uploading, some never share at all - all of this not for us to control.

I do have a torrent software, but I was not really sure how to use it then. Is it only good for media files?

i dont know what problem u got while downloading using torrents. actually torrents are good at downloading any size of files other than direct downloading. we can stop downloading and can shutdown the system .... but this is not possible in direct downloading. Utorrent....try this one.i tried it and its good.

Overall, a Peer-to-Peer (Bit torrent) download is the best, it can stop, pause and resume downloads: speed is limited only by the # of seeds and leachers (and their cumulative speeds).... Actually, you can't compare P2P from direct downloads or even leaching. bit torrent is very effective in mass and large downloads, direect or HTTP downloads are also fast but can't resumed, paused etc. like in P2P. Leaching is not downloading, but is actually copying the contents of your TEMP folders to another location...
