I know this is a very common question but i also believe that until now, nobody knows the very exact answer to this question...perhaps your answer varies on how you defend it.
For me, I strongly believe that chicken comes first. Why? If you will check on the holy book (Bible) or even watch the movie "Noah's Arc", you will notice that during the time of Noah, when the flood washed the earth, all the animals with His family were all live animals. There were all kinds of animals..and I'm sure, eggs were never there..right?LOL
so,whats your idea?Please answer this question seriously..thnx

Unlike you I think more along the evolution lines. I would say the egg same first, because somewhere way back when a thing that is the ancestor to the chick gave birth to an egg that hatched a new creature which we call today a chicken. :)

As for me there is only one answer. Chicken!! Even before Noah's time animals were there & like God created Adam & Eve (Not Baby Adam & Baby Eve), God created every single animals on Earth (& not eggs waiting to be hatched!! lol) So its chicken without doubt.
